I rarely see anyone using Shadowwraths besides myself and when I do they are copying me. I know Shadowwraths are not useless since I use them and am currently 1824 though I can see why not too many people would refrain from using them, but all Order users?

Shadowraths are kind of only useful for assassinating magikills and merics. I usually have a couple in end game to kill the magic users. You can't mass them; gets obliterated by most builds. You can't have too many; too much population waste (4 per guy), the rest of your army would be too small. But that people use none.. That's a surprise. What do they do when the opponents gets a few magikill? I've heard the spearton charge strategy, but if you don't have lots of speartons, you have to build a ninja...

It depends on what you define as "use" Do you mean spam it as your main unit or have 1 or 2 to get rid of magikill?

I dont really use them myself because there are quicker ways to get rid of them, one being just attacking them with 4-5 spears and hoping they dont cast too many spells. To build a shadowwrath in response to a mage would take about 1 minute and 30 seconds, a time that most people dont like to wait for.

The thing about shadowraths is that is that its training time is SO slow, no one would use it

Their better then speartons once you have 6+ with 2-3 spears for distractions and a magikill or 2

Don't lose hope on the Shadowraths. You may not see them as much anymore, but they are still viable to Order.

1 Shadowrath takes care the work of 15 Speartons when trying to kill a Magikill.

A Shadowrath mass may not win you every battle, but it's still threatening. I once faced a person who Shadowrath massed, and he killed my Giants 1 by 1 and forced me to go into defensive position until I thought of a new plan. I didn't have Flying Crossbowmen at the time...

Some people use shadowrath to kill kiting archers. It's useful when turtling, and of course assassinating mages and merics...

I use it as a support unit, hardly ever as a frontline man.

my account wrathofshadows uses shadows frequently when it appears the opponent doesnt know how to buy other higher tier units to counter them.
however when i played against you i saw that you shadow massed and i built to counter

in most games I use a group of 4-7 shadowraths. Why? 7 shinobi on giant and he is dead :) ... and of course assassinating other units... problem are only the albamass.

I generally prefer to focus on casting spells, kiting archers and moving healthier giants to the front, I'd rather not worry about moving my ninjas around too. Too much stuff to worry about.

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT.

I made an alt and I'm moving up. By around 1450 rating all I was seeing was shadowraths. I would start making archers and miners, then when I got a spearton, my enemy would send out a shadow with shinobi 1. Then they go one of two ways. Usually they start making shadows and albows and eventually giants. To counter this I make speartons, albows, ghost, merics, and magikill. Y'know, the tier 2 stuff.

But a certain Moldova MASSES shadows and then eventually giants when I start massing giants and albows. Seriously the past 5 games have ONLY been shadow massers. :(
