Stickpage is in Utter Turmoil!!!

On May 23, 2013 Moderator Hewitt was unceremonoiusly erased from Stickpage...

Well, not exactly.

In a parrallel dimension caused by a temporal rift the Spam-O-Matic created, Hewitt never managed to come back. Chaos ensued. The ESMF was back worse than ever, killing mercilessly for their own gain. Meanwhile, Hewitt's demise had angered the Writing community which had long established him as some kind of god. This has resulted in the formation of the WLG, a third faction now out for blood and dominance on all things Animation. Finally, various individuals have taken it upon themselves to establish their own selfish ends on Stickpage, and may prove to be even more dangerous as they live amongst the town waiting for the right moment to strike.

It's a selfishly scary brand new world out there in the Otherverse, but with every potential for despair comes hidden hope. This is a Chronicle of those events: yet another round of...

The Day the Hewitt Died

Welcome. After the last Arc that was the Stickpage Strangler, I've decided to postpone the serious Round 3 in favor of something more fun and highly unbalanced. Please note the previous statement, as it is important: This is not your normal Mafia game. Majority of the players will have special roles which may or may not have their own win conditions to boot! If you're expecting a fun romp through randomness, then by all means step right up.



How do I Win
This is essentially a three-way between factions. Basically, wherever you belong to, you must eliminate every one of the other groups to win. These groups are:

1) The Stickpagians who have lived in SP for as long as they can remember. They must band together to protect the town from foreign invaders. They cannot kill together at night.

2) The New ESMF (East Side Motherfuckers) are a bunch of dead-clan fetishists who wish to bring retribution to Stickpage for all the other dead clans past and future.

3) The WLG (Writers Liberation Group) are a band of deluded right-wing idealists who believe that Writers were destined to someday inherit an Animation forum.

But of course nothing is ever that simple. For one, what of the Strangler that should've existed in the other timeline? Could he have a counterpart in this universe as well? There's also a few (rare) unscrupulous individuals who each have their personal reasons for being even though they're technically sided with the town.



How to Play
If this is your first time playing Mafia on this forum or on the Internet or IRL in general, then it's quite easy. The game has two phases:

- In the Day, the entire town must reach a decision to lynch someone (or no one) by voting pubclicly in the thread. They do this by posting #Vote . In order for the town to reach a decision, the number of votes must be at least more than half the town. Once votes have reached that amount, that player is executed and Night follows.

- At Night, unless you're a Normal Stickpagian, you can perform a Night Action associated with your Role. ESMF and WLG members can also convene together to talk about who to kill or other matters. Your Night Action will be listed in the Role PM you recieve upon signing up in this thread.

The Town Hall during the Day is open and spacious enough so that everyone may freely PM each other. But at night, unless you're an ESMF/WLG, you may not PM people. If someone has broken this rule, report it to me and they will be dealt with (ejected from the game).

Aaaand that's it. The game continues until any one of the 3 factions' win conditions is achieved (the obliteration of the other 2), if at all. Note that it is not guaranteed if there will even be any WLG or ESMF members. For all you know, there could just be one bad guy! There is also a rare chance that certain 3rd-party roles might achieve their own unique Win Condition as well. There are also other roles who can win on their own but will not result in the game ending, rather the damage that they can do is wasting a Day for the town at best.

Here's where the fun begins! Signing up is different this time around. Below are a list of names of SP members Past and Present. They represent the Roles of this game and the flavor text counterpart as a character of this forum in the Otherverse. What are their Roles? You'll have NO clue. All you'll know is that the names will give some kind of indication as to what they represent. According to me anyway. And yes, there is still a chance that you can get a Normal Stickpagian. Okay now for the proper steps:
1) To Signup properly, you need to post in this thread. The first TEN posters (3 new and 7 reserved) may have a choice in the list as to who they want to be by ALSO posting it in the thread. But you may NOT pick the role associated with your own name. (Xero can't pick Xero)

2) Anyone after the those 5 reserved and 5 new signups will no longer have a choice of names. But must still post to sign-up. I'm looking for a very chaotic 15-20 people!

3) After signups are capped, I will start PM-ing people a random role from this deck of 52. The first 10 who had the opportunity to pick their own names will have the choice of picking amongst the two they will have.

4) After all the roles are given out, and I have received confirmations, I will signify Day 1 to begin. Rest assured, I will not start a game that has all members of the same faction nor will I start a game that has more ESMF and WLG combined than Town.

Example: You posted 3rd in this thread and you posted Mikematic as a choice. I will PM you a randomly drawn role: Envoy. I will explain what both Mikematic and Envoy actually are and what faction they belong to. You now have the choice of picking one of them. If you were the 14th poster, you will not get a free shot at picking a name.

PROTIP: You'd be surprised what some names up there actually represent. But I can't blame you if they turn out to be Normal Townies and vice versa. Choose Wiseleh.

With a roster this huge, expect roles you've never seen before as well as old ones making a comeback with slightly modified rules! Also some roles are only useful if another role of that kind/line exists, so if it doesn't well...you're just a Townie with a fancy name. It all depends on how you roll the dice (or pick a card as it were)!

Players who are dead will have their roles and identity revealed, as well as some flavor text concerning how they are in this Otherworld Reality (basically the Role PM I would have sent to that player alone). At the end of the game, I will also reveal everyone's roles and identities so don't worry about it. If this goes on successfully, I might have a redo, which means roles that are revealed will stay as they are. That's right, the more you play in this setup, the more roles eventually get revealed. So to the players right now: this is your first blood for randomness!



General Rules:
1) Play to your win condition. Do not betray the town if you are town (do not suicide to give ESMF/WLG a free nightkill). Do not help the town if you are an ememy.

2) Do not share PM Convos between you and me. The only exception to this rule are the reports generated by your night (and possibly day) actions. You can share those.

3) This is not an RP. There's no need to act like you're really into the role unless you have to. The flavor text is nothing more than to just getting the players in the mood. Also, flavor text in Player Deaths are also for the sake of fun. They by no means hint who killed them (i.e. someone dying by hanging doesn't necessarily mean the Strangler did it).

4) Dead players can't talk, so kindly leave the thread and wait for it to end when you have been eliminated. You're allowed to post one or two things but please NO GAME-RELATED INFO.

5) Do not take anything here personally. It's a game of deceit and betrayal after all so keep the flames to yourself.

6) **NEW** I thought it was already obvious but if you're not a player in this game, refrain from posting comments even if you were already long dead (Triss and _Ai_ got my eye on you)

7) **NEW** All players must show SOME activity by posting every 48 hours within their last post, even if it's something derpy I don't care. You need to talk in this game and it's not fair to those who are really trying (if you post like a derp, you have every right to be lynched anyway). You may NOT lurk. If someone has gone past the 48 hour mark I will prod them ONCE. If they don't respond or continue to lurk I reserve the right to replace or erase them.

8) **NEW** Don't know what to do, have some questions, or need some advice? Go ahead and ask me. I won't reveal any pertinent information, but I can offer insights you might not be aware of that you can use. If you're also planning on doing something, you can ask my opinion on it but I won't say what you should ultimately do. For all this, please refer to Rule #2.

9) **NEW** Please do not Meta. Don't look in other Mafia sites and forums to try and guess what all 52 roles are. If I wanted to make a serious setup I would've. But I didn't. So please, don't spoil the fun by pointing out meaningless baseless conjecture.

Please, read EVERYTHING. It's something that you never seem to do ever since the last game. The WLG is a faction like the ESMF. They have the same function, except they don't work with the ESMF and are at it for their own reasons. Roles draws are all random.

Um, well I was asking if you could tell us what they have for roles. EXAMPLE: The ESMF have what is known as a geezer, he is impervious to cop investigations. But the stickpagians have cops, something the ESMF don't have.

And your asking me to place a name correct? The name can be just about anything or does it have to be a name of someone on stickpage who already exists?

What do you mean by the thing that is in bold, do you mean just say the name you would like to be referred to as? Do you mean you have to say a name that already exists on an account? Do you mean post the name of one of the roles and you will have a chance to become it? Details if you will.

Yes. Sorry if I wasn't clear too KKA, each name corresponds to an actual role in this game. But you won't know what the roles are until the day begins and the signups are done. The only thing you'll have going for is the name itself.
