We've taken on the job of finding the animator that has entertained and influenced us most in the entire history of stick animation ! Long story short, our history is more complex than you would expect.We will have a 32-contestant knockout-tournament style contest (that means 1 on 1 poll battles). That means we'll be making a total of 80 polls over the next few months (I don't expect it to be longer than 2 or 3 months) over the course of 5 stages! It's simple. All you need to do is go to each poll and vote for one of the two participants. The one with the most votes wins and moves on in the competition. The one who is defeated has to face the other defeated participants from that stage for the runner-up positions.
ALL POLLS CLOSE AROUND JUNE 20TH and then we'll take a two-week break for my finals. I really won't be able to do anything around that time.
PLEASE NOTE THE COMPETITION HAS NOW ALREADY SPLIT INTO TWO. TRY TO GIVE EQUAL ATTENTION TO BOTH SIDES OF THE COMPETITION. SIMPLE AS THAT. GO VOTE IN ALL POLLS. :) Thank you.
For this stage, the type of polls will be marked with either "Main" for those who won in stage 1 or "(SL1)" for those who lost in stage 1. SL1 stands for Stage Lost 1
(And remember, I don't use caps to shout at you. I use them to stress the importance of things. :D)
Note:
Remember, we're trying to give out a Lifetime Achievement Award here and after seeing the results of stage 1 it is obvious that many of you don't exactly understand what that is. PLEASE TRY TO JUDGE PEOPLE MORE FOR HOW THEY INFLUENCED STICK ANIMATION IN TIME, not how active they are or the general quality of their animations or how much of a friend they are to you. Obviously, you will have to take those things into consideration as well, EXCEPT the friend thing, but focus on the importance the animator has had over time, because that's what "Lifetime" means.
It's interesting to see who are the most influential at this current time, but since it's a Lifetime achievement we're trying to be somewhere in the middle of "What's hot" and "The pioneers"... I hope this is not confusing for you. :)

The reason why this thread is in Main is because people don't generally check the Poll Central section, which is where the polls will be hosted.
The reason why these polls will last 14 days (I know, that is too long and everyone will have voted within the first few days) is personal and involves exam finals and a recently acquired uncertainty of the "when life gives you lemons, they're bitter and foul and there's nothing you can do with them" type. Explanations will be given if required, but remember we're just doing this for fun. :)
