Okay, I'm going to be a freshman next year and I'm wondering what highschool is really like.

I don't mean like 'just work hard and you'll get through,' I mean like 'You transition classes like ___ and lunch is like ___.'

I know the work is going to be ****hard, and I'm not going to have any time for friends and shit, yet everyone is saying it's going to be the best years of my life for some stupid reason, I don't get it.

It just like middle school in a bigger building, only it is more important.

It's what you call people going into their first year of highschool.

highschool is horrible, you're going to get bullied, and there is nothing you can do.

Good luck.

Highschool generally starts at 14 Chimmy/Firefly/All you European folks

Highschool is not all that hard, I do swimming which means I don't get started on my homework untill 6-7 o'clock on a daily basis and I still manage to keep up with all of my advanced (well as advanced as a freshman/sophomore can get) classes.

If you don't want to get bullied I suggest not being a faggot/dick/douchebag.

Also, hang out on the fringes of the school society, with all the people like yourself and there aren't really any bullies there. They are all cool people.

Also, all Freshman are faggots.

People say that highschool are the best years of your life because they're when you start sports, clubs, and relationships. They are also the last years of your life before your life becomes hell and you try and balance a family, job, bills, and taxes.

I'm going into the hardest program in the country.

They tell you before you join to cancel all ties with friends to make it easier.

Yeah, seriously, it's pretty much just a legend or a myth.

Don't hang around with Jackasses, you won't get punched.

Don't pick a fight and you won't get punched.

Besides most highschools have security and stuff so bullying doesn't happen.

Freshman year is pretty scary, or at least it was for me. I couldn't find one of my classes and accidently walked into a calculus classroom, and had trouble with my locker for the first time.

There are a lot of people around to help you out, though.

As a senior I can tell you that, for the most part, the seniors won't give two shits about the freshmen or what they're doing, so there's not much reason to worry about the upper classmen.

As far as classwork, for me most of my high school curriculum has been a joke. It's extremely easy to slack off in high school, though. Make sure you don't do that. You have no idea how much I'd give to go back to those classes I got C's in just for not turning in homework. Your friends might say that colleges don't care about your freshman year since grades might be affected due to the stress of transition, but those grades affect your cumulative highschool GPA just as much as your senior year's grades.

As far as it being the "best time of your life", that doesn't start until you can drive.

I was a Freshman, shit didn't happen to me because people don't bully, they're just assholes sometimes that don't do SHIT.

Besides, if people really bullied at all they'd probably get their ass beat by someone bigger.

Unless you do hard classes >=C

What really matters for college is your junior and senior year but it would be much more impressive to have a 4.0 gpa and consistent grades then Horrible/Bad/Good/Good.

Yeah, I'm pretty nervous about switching classes because

A) I didn't go to open house, so I have no idea where they are.

B) The school enforces a 3 minute standard, as in, you have 3 minutes to get to your next class.

EDIT: I'm not worried about bullies, I can stand up for myself. And I'm not even necessarily worried about grades, either. When you finish the program you get a scholarship to GA Tech or something.
