Yea, I suck at drawing cracks period. But I'm trying to understand how to draw cracks in a grassy area. Like if someone were to get pummeled to the ground, do I draw dirt with some grass over the place? I dunno....help would be appreciated. AND a drawing maybe. =]

well, a little bit of grass would be hanging over the edge of the crack, but otherwise it would be dirt. So say your guy does a kick into the ground and leaves a large V shaped crack. Where the crack meets the grass, small blades of that grass should hang slightly over the edge of the crack. Think of it as though you were draw grass that ends at the base of a cliff.

Ok, I got you. But the way I need to draw it isn't a side view. So that makes it harder. Tryna get that 3D perspective rather than a side view.

well, I would draw the grass just ending, with a couple of blades of grass haning over the edge, then behind the grass just start drawing the side of the crack's wall. If that makes sense.
