Here is what i categorize as the "levels of amount of lag"
Category 1
Category 1 lag has "soandso is lagging and will forfiet in 18 seconds" at least 4 times but it doesn't go under the highest amount and the lag is pretty minimum, despite the note. Category 1 lag has a very slight delay. Category 1 lag is usually harmless but sometimes can be annoying
Category 2
Category 2 lag starts to get annoying. The main difference of category 2 lag compared to category 1 lag is that the delay is 1 second long. Delay is the time how right after you click it to the time the unit(s) respond. Delay is super annoying when you try to move units away.
Category 3
Category 3 lag has a 1.5-2 second delay and occasional less than one second freezing. Once you get up to Category 3 lag, it starts to get hard to micro because of the high delay and occasional freezing
Category 4
Category 4 lag has over 2 second delay and has plenty of 1-5 second freezes. Once there is Category 4 lag, it becomes impossible to micro regulary and well. The time of the match becomes very long.
Category 5
Category 5 is a lot like category 4 lag but it is a lot prone to a full freeze. You can't really do anything in category 5 lag, as almost all matches where there is category 5 lag the game freezes so hard that you can't even surrender

I know I'll lose if I go over category 4 lag. Like seriously, micro is so important.

I usually get alot of Category 1, but I find it difficult to adapt to category 2 or above.
