Ok so I've been asked by some peeps to show them how to make soe trails (quite the silliest thing to ask) but anyway it seems so that if no one does this then i will.
I've taken the time out to do this so hope u guys appreciate it.

First Off..........trails are used for one purpose and that purpose is to like when the sword/object is moving at a certain speed the brain wll not clearly see the proper movements of an object so in an animation what could we do to fix that little problem? Answer is simple add trails to fill in those large spaces.

Creating a trail.

There are many different types of trails that so far i know of:
Image

Solid trails-These are basically attached/drawn to an angle or shape showing where the object has passed within the point that it was at first to the point to where it swiftly moved. It is just drawn to the object without any effect or alpha.
for example: Jombo's rhg against Specter.

now look closlly at his trails. When Specter attempts to hit/or does hit Quickfeet he uses a solid trail but at a certain alpha percentage also the trails used for quickfeet when he hits are solid. When Quickfeet speeds to another place he uses the solid trail just showing the speed he is moving so the viewer can see what is happening.

Linear Trails-Ok now these are just simple to do. Many of you guys have seen Hyun's,Plasmaghost's, Oxob's anims etc. They sometimes use these types of trails.

Example-Plasmaghost's tutorial. This time this is used to show how he uses his trails not for the combo.
[swf=http://www.filz.us/files/3d81496f/452/Pl039s_trails.swf]Height=300 Width=1100[/swf]

Radial Trails-SO now these trails are quite as simple as the linear. They have are mostly the same thing except that the trail will b first constructed first off using the circle tool. All that is needed is to just simple add the color and so and just construct the cricle
and using the free trasnform tool the direct it.

Constructing the Radial trail
step1- press key "o"< Circle tool
step2-goto the color section on the program(macromedia im using)
step3- there should have this.http://prntscr.com/1ev7lj
step4- click on where it says "solid" then a little list should slide out. 5 listed items(none, solid, linear, radial and bitmap)

*note:what you want is the radial

step5-using the radial gradient u will have this on the color tab.
http://prntscr.com/1evbkv

now try to get this when u construct the circle.http://prntscr.com/1evcvu

didnt get it??Look at the tab which I have and look at how I costumized the colors.
http://prntscr.com/1evdvn

now look closely at the color thingy, where there r two tiny arrows on the color display pad thingy.http://prntscr.com/1evfcm
i turned both of the arrow thingies to black and the arrow on the left, click on it and put the alpha to zero and move it up to how I have it on the display thingy.
*note- make sure the black area is bounding the 0% alpha color.

step6- now that u have that circle and the right gradient now using the paint tool "K" clicl on any part of the circles circumference. Leaving you with this
http://prntscr.com/1evt60
Step7-Having the circle look like that above now using the free transform tool "Q". stretch the circle to this shape
http://prntscr.com/1evunl
Step8- its now officially a trail and you can add it to your animation. lol

*note-be sure to ake the trails make sense.

like this
http://prntscr.com/1evvge

not like this:
http://prntscr.com/1evvsz

The effect of using trails

look at the difference trails make to moving objects.

Great tutorial! I liked how you had examples and what a motion looks like with & without trails.

I'd also like to add the waffle trail, which is a bunch of sketched lines to produce a criss-crossed style of trail; http://www.filz.us/view/0111ecfe-f8d/ ((the black stick's trail, which is derantue)Ps; that's really old and gosh I was terrible back then, i'm the purple stick)

And the frame behind 50% alpha trail, which is like, hard to explain, just look at this; http://www.filz.us/view/d0273efa-969/ , the fire is slightly lagged by adding the same number of frames just one frame behind the original then that same layer of fire is changed to 50% alpha (obsidium did that c:>)

Yeah gosh i'm terrible at explaining but the above things are easy to do anyway
