I saw it yesterday. I don't really get what's so good about this movie.
I guess the graphics are cool, the soundtrack as well, but everything is so fucking predictable:
The characters schemes are the same as any other "American" action movie: the hero, good looking, who used to be awesome at something but who has lost a member of his family and decided to stop because of it, the girl, who fights with the hero and who will later fall in love with him, the chief, who used to be as good as the hero was but who had to stop because of disease/accident, the rival of the hero, who first thinks that the hero is just a piece of shit, but then, after he saw him fighting, thinks he's actually not too bad,...
We can see ALL the actions coming: the hero comes back because the chief "believes in him", then, the only person who can save the world with the hero is, surprisingly, the attractive girl who seems to be in love with him, then the two save a city from monsters, while three other teams got their shit beaten up, the chief: "wow u guys are good, I know u'd be awesome. Btw I'll go with u for the very dangerous mission we're about to go to", the girl: "nuu ure gonna die because you're sick", later in this mission, the chief sacrifices himself to let the hero and the girl finish the mission, the hero, after making sure the girl is safe, finishes his mission in extremis, the girl thinks he died but, oh joy, he's alive. Then they kiss. End. Credits.
No real originality, no innovation. It looked like another commercial movie, with no taste and no surprise.
