Lol funny. My birthday's today too (well, technically on the 14th but SP messed up and said "posted today"). Anyway this is fairly good. It seems a bit simplistic to be posted on it's own thread but that's just what I think. The shading definitely needs work and the grass is pretty nice-not in the sense of it being realistic or anything but it fits the general style. The pose looks a little awkward. I presume he's supposed to look as if he's fucking epic and ready for a battle but it ameks him look...idk, relaxed and laid back. I'll cut it some slack since I don't consider this to be a really serious work of art that you spent hours on so I'll say it's good for what it's made for. Keep practicing with the shading. Nice lighting effects btw.
