Well, I've noticed personally that since I began animating quite a long time ago (inconsistently though lol) I've started to analyse all forms of animation-especially 2D-on TV, video games, movies (direct-to-DVD mostly), etc. Every time I watch a cartoon or anything of the like, it's almost compulsive that I analyse it's style, it's movements, the pacing, and the other basic technicalities. I must make clear that this is not to be confused with judging animation, this is just observing how everything fits into place-I obviously haven't got any of the professional skills to judge anything like that. I just found it interesting to share, ever since I've learned any type of artistic skill, I've found that I do the same. So I'm wondering, is it the same for any of you guys?
EDIT: Oh yeah almost forgot; if this applies to you, does it take away any of the fun or excitement of watching something animated?
Analytical much?

I'm the same to you. I kept analyzing the easing of the anime/cartoon I have watched. Even CGI ones. It actually made me lose focus on the anime/cartoon a couple of times...

Recently I watched a short R18-ish flash series completely ignoring everything just to look at the technicalities. I mean, look at the characters, it doesn't look like it was done frame-by-frame (tweened flash rigs for the most part, I think), and look at those facial expressions! So cute especially for the buck-teeth elf-like guardswoman, I wish I could imitate that.

I can usually tell if an animation is done lazily or well-done, but I don't analyze it too in depth. I try to enjoy the animation for what it is. If its noticeably bad, then I just stop watching it.
