If you don't know what Cube World is, you can check it out here.

So apparently, Cube World is a voxel based game created by a talented husband-and-wife duo that features elements from other games such as Minecraft, TLoZ, WoW, Diablo, and a couple others.

I'm looking into buying the alpha version of this game after I get my next pay check next week, and from the looks of it, it seems insanely fun and interesting.

Here's a fan-made trailer of some of the gameplay found in Cube World. :D

What are your thoughts of the game?

woah! first i thought it would be a dumb minecraft rip-off, but this actually looks better! it's like they took minecraft, and expanded what minecraft really needs more of - a reason to explore the world, more enemies to fight, (bosses?), and a better fighting system! i kind of want this..

Yeah it actually looks really fun and great but I can already see all the butthurt minecraft fans that are going to bash the game for being a ripoff and believe that minecraft was the first game to have the cube atmosphere.
Judging by the comments in the video, it has already happened.

I would support you buying this game, but I still like Minecraft overall

So I recommend buying either Cube World (If you like the TLoZ, WoW and Excreta gameplay) or Minecraft (If you like the basic gameplay) :p

eh, i dunno. looks like a big open world and lots of stuff to do, but gameplay looks pretty standard.

it seems like any other mmo, but bigger because they used cubes instead of realistic graphics and didn't have to put so much work in to map detailing.

Pff who would want to play this when you have lots of similar games with actual graphics? 12 year olds?
I think I'd never play a game like this.

This is the kind of attitude someone who enjoys COD or Battlefield typically has. There is much, much more to games than graphics, dude.

Anyways, the game looks pretty interesting. I'd probably play it if it was free, though if it were a one time pay, I'd also get it. Membership fees? That would be a deal breaker. It does look quite fun though. And despite being a mixture of other games, it's rather interesting in it's own right.

there are better gameplay videos. the one i watched was almost a year old, but it explained what the game was more about.. like i thought, it's more focused on the adventuring and exploring aspects of minecraft. there are different classes, a ton of different weapons (including magic), and the fighting system looks way better than minecraft. it's also got NPCs with quests and other RPG stuff.

ALSO it's got a mini block-editor, so you can open up your weapons in the editor and add small details to them. you can make them look cool as shit! i believe i also heard that it supports like 5 players, and that it probably won't support much more because it's meant to be like a close-knit group of people adventuring together. i think that sounds incredibly fun!

it's basically like what people try to turn minecraft into through the use of mods.

I played around with it for awhile. Never really got fully into it. I got a tad bored.

Leveling is slow and almost everything will destroy you in the beginning (including a boxing raccoon). There isn't that much incentive to get better gear. I may return to it at a later date, because it does have fun elements. I just got sidetracked by other things.

Rochedan that was a dumb ass comment. Many of these games are leagues better than their triple A counterparts.

Who cares about the graphics? What really matters is the gameplay.

Especially when the graphic style actually facilitates the gameplay... (and looks nice)

I might switch to this once I learn more about it. I usually like Minecraft but it doesn't know what it wants to be and fails at accomplishing a lot. Beyond building things, the game is boring as shit. Once I finish a project I lose all drive to play.

i've had my eye on cube world for a long time, but it turns out i cant run it on my computer :/. Its a completely different experience from minecraft and you could easily play both without getting bored of eather of them.
