You're really lucky Tim, not everyone has that experience. I guess for me, I created my own drama thinking that if I got in a relationship with someone I could feel like everyone else who was around me at that time. My school was pretty small, so matter where I looked there was always one couple around the corner eating lunch, walking hand-in-hand...I wanted that too.

So I got in a relationship with this girl. She liked me first, but I was the first one to ask her out. She said yes. I was so happy that day because it all of my courage to summon up and ask her, little did I know that would end a while later. She broke up with me about a couple months later because things just weren't working between me and her. Of course (being the flowery man I am), I held in my tears until I got home where I cried my eyes out that day. That was during my 8th grade to Freshman year of High School.

Several years later (Junior in High School), I was an average student with nothing in particularly special about me. I wasn't really "good" at anything and I had this mentality about myself for a long time, which tore my confidence level below where I had started before. (I was a pretty shy kid then...probably still that way, dunno.)

I pretty much kept away from the clicks and drama mostly out of head ache and seeing the couples walk together, that is until I met her. I was eating my lunch one afternoon when she came up to my table and just sat down in front of me. Now I knew everyone there by this time (what else does a loner have to do except memorize names and faces?) and I knew her to be one of the smartest (and beautiful) students at my school. She sat down, pulled out her lunch and just talked with me till the lunch period was over. She invited me to hang with her and her friends next time before she left for class, but I felt...conflicted. I was afraid of opening up to people and getting hurt again, but I ignored that instinct and decide hang with them at the mall.

I should say that I don't regret that day because they gave me my confidence back (well a bit of it) and they helped me open up. I had a lot of fun with them and my relationship with that girl grew, but I knew things like this would come to an end eventually. When I had found out she had liked me, I thought that this was my chance to finally confess my feelings to her as well. I prepped and set up a time where her best friend (a dude), herself, and I could go have fun. Even her best friend (the dude) helped me to try and get with her, but there was a nagging feeling in the back of my mind that didn't seem right.

After that event, (the dude) pulled me aside because he wanted to talk with me and that's when everything fell apart. He and her had fallen for each other. (the dude) tried to explain to me that he knew it was wrong since he was trying to help me in the first place, but what had happened he couldn't help. It's safe to say that things didn't end well and I stopped talking with either of them now. (This was the summer before I became a College Freshman)

I haven't really let this change me per-say, but I do still feel those scars from my high school life. (However later I got better ;D)
