I'm pretty easygoing and can get along well with others, but I seem to detach myself from others somehow. Probably because in my opinion, I don't share anything in common with them. That's why I don't have anyone I can call a good/best friend. But what creates a difference between a normal friend and best friend anyway?

For me at least, a normal friend is the one I usually spend most of my time with (although sometimes I don't get to choose so) and have an average discussion about relatively uninteresting subjects, while a best friend, on the other hand, is the one I spend little time with (and wish I'd spent more) while freely debating over topics that are most likely going to end up with both of us more confused than we were before. That's a difference I'd dare call vital, because it's so much easier to get tired enough of normal friends, you always think you know everything about them and they're no longer providing a satisfactory presence.

I hardly see the debate potential here as I feel those topics are too broad. Moved to General Discussion.

Anyway, to me there's no deep meaning to how to define friends and 'best' friends. Friends are people you hangout with, 'best' friends are people you hang out with.

If you ask me, a best friend is someone you don't have to worry about pleasing. You can be completely open and free around them because you know that they have already fully accepted who you are and the way you act. Even though they know all of your faults, and you theirs, you can still have great times enjoying each other's company.

...are the things I hardly disagree. A best friend is the one you usually have fun with although there are times you tease each other. But the things I mentioned above is false. Yeah, a friend will support you at all times and will laugh along with you, but a best friend will go with you with a sleepover and sleep until 7 am playing video games and fapping to strange Maria Ozawa porn and anime hentai. And what a friend does is x2 to what best friends does.
