Euthanasia. Oregon legalized it a long time ago if the patient is terminally ill. Doctor-Assisted suicide is what got Kevorkian jailed for a while.
If there is a person in a vegetative state, their family can decide upon whether or not to pull the plug.
Should one pull the plug due to the current suffering, and the only slim chance of recovery, or should they let them live due to the very possibility?
My opinion: Would you rather get the Death Penalty, or life in prison? A vegetative, unresponsive state accompanied with injury or a disease can be like life in prison with great pain throughout the whole thing until your end finally comes.
Fuck Pro-Life. lol.

I think that there should be an option on Drivers Liscenses kinda lik e"Organ Donor", but for doctor-assisted suicide that would say whether your family can pull your plug.
"If, due to an accident or other medical problem, you should be landed into a vagetative state, would you be willing to participate in doctor-assisted suicide ? YES[ ]-------NO[ ]"
That would remove the issue instantly.
It's a matter of the person's choice.
I'll end this post with a bit by George Carlin:

That wouldn't actually work because the vegetative patient still puts a strain on federal and personal rescources. So if someone said no would the family be required to be bled away until the patient bleeds away?

no no people should lay in bed for the rest of their unconscious life and be kept alive by machines totally

Yup.
But Isn't that the situation right now? After all, right now most people have to remain in their vegetative states. With the ID checkbox, there would actually be people dieing instead.

Oh well. Good idea then.

I do agree with euthanasia, but only as a very last resort.
