After spending some time checking out the forum for SE, I noticed that there doesn't seem to be a thread for terminology commonly used by game players here. Correct me if I'm wrong, but we should definitely have one up, (and perhaps stickied? If you would be so kind Tecness?). I'll include what I can think of with examples right off the bat. If I'm missing any, please comment and I'll edit the original post so that it includes a more operative definition or new term.
Micro: Short for Micro-managing, Micro is when you operate singular or small groups of units in advantageous ways, such as moving injured units out of an area where they could die, or assassinating lone Magikill with a Shadowrath so your army of Archidons doesn't die. A good example of Micro can be seen here. The player moves his injured crawlers to the rear of his offense so they don't die at about 50 seconds in.
Macro: Essentially Micro's cousin in strategy games, Macro pertains to unit queuing, or being able to build units when you want them, because of a good economy. A good example of Macro would be an offensive that allows you to constantly build a better economy and then tech up to better/more numerous units before your opponent. I'm not going to include a video for this, as most players can get the idea quite easily. If not, look at a replay of any of the pro's matches.
Turtling: When you go very defensive and economical early-game. The general idea behind this is that your economy will far outreach and outproduce theirs. Dubbed turtling due to it being a very safe tactic, like a turtle hiding in its shell. A good turtle is very hard to defeat. Arguably the best turtler of SE was/is Fatty(InsertAnimal). There is also a way to offensively turtle, where by attacking the opponent repeatedly, you force them to become preoccupied with your attacks, allowing you to build up your economy. For a good example on Turtling, check out Ai's thread here.
Rushing: When you go very offensive early game. Very much the opposite to turtling, rushing's goal is usually either to capture the center tower or damage the enemy's economy early-on. Very high-risk strategy. See here.
Pressuring: Essentially the anti to turtling, pressuring is where multiple hit-and-run attacks wear an opponent down over time. Chaos often utilizes this tactic well. Usually, pressuring is done behind the Tower Spawn or a Tank Unit, letting those behind it do most of the damage. See rushing example.
Kiting: Usually seen done with ranged units, kiting is basically hit-and-runs, in the sense that once they attack, they must either reload, in the case of archers, or heal, in the case of crawlers. Once reloaded, they turn around, attack, and then repeat. Very devastating when done correctly. See example here.
Massing/Spamming: When you use exclusively or semi exclusively only one unit. The most common example of this is Giant Massing, where the enemy usually goes for 8 Enslaved Giants and a Meric. Fowned upon by many players due to its simplicity. Comprehensive threads all over the forum, but this one stood out.
OOS (Out of Syncing): OOS is caused by logical assumptions in the server computer going wrong. This can be caused by a few different things, such as a Cheat Engine or a really bad connection. When the server catches this, it cancels the match and awards no points. I can't give a replay for this because OOS's don't save, and I'm not an exploiter.
Exploiting: There are many different forms of exploiting, from simply pausing the game repeatedly to using Cheat Engines. Exploiting is basically any foul play that causes you to win and them to lose under unfair circumstances. Doing this will get you banned if you are caught, so don't do it! Generally, it is better to give the other player the benefit of the doubt, but if it happens more than once or twice, and you're sure they have exploited, name them and give the replay in this thread.
Anti: Strategy to defeat another strategy.
Worth Mentioning:
gl hf: "good luck, have fun"
gg wp: "Good game, well played"
Clans: SE has a number of clans set up by dedicated players so that the game is more fun and strategic for all. See Clans Thread.

well, thanks for the thread but I think most of us here already know the meaning of those terms already :D

Giant massing isn't bad. It's sometimes necessary when someone goes heavy into turtling or uses a build like ninja/albow. It used to be cheap and OP, but now its simply an effective (but time consuming) was to win.

1) What applications?
2) I'll include a mention to the Clans Thread, though I don't think each individual one is necessary.
3) n00b... didn't people get mad at you for saying those things before? I'm not going to put in all shortened/slang words used by gamers or this wouldn't be a thread, but a dictionary.

So there are only about 150 people who aren't n00bs? I think the number is probably below 1600- 1700 (which includes me)

I was going to say, either people under 2k, or people under 1400.
You could get 1400 without even knowing how to play the game.

People under 2K is more appropriate.
