I use gothic very loosely. I'm trying to discover more bands that give off that kinda gothic feel. As in a nice dark use of instruments such as the piano, violin, xylophone, and even harp. I could be using the term entirely wrong, and if so I apologize. Let me use some examples so you can better understand what I'm trying to get at:
Matchbook Romance:
Lovedrug:
Pierce The Veil:

You mean like this:
Tell me which ones were closer to your appropriation so I can gauge.

Epica
After Forever
Kamelot
early Nightwish and Tarja Turunen's later solo stuff
Within Temptation
Xandria
Amberian Dawn
ReVamp (about to release their second album which looks like it will be better for you than their first)
Apocalyptica
Sirenia
Angtoria/Sarah Jezebel Deva in general
Darkwell, if you want to try something really weird
Hydria
The Sins of Thy Beloved
Lacrimosa
and maybe some Therion
I'll put some links in, but it might take a while because I'll get caught up listening.

I already listen to Sleeping With Sirens and Avenged Sevenfold so those are both accurate. Edison Glass isn't exactly what I'm looking for, but it is a new band to me that I enjoy so thanks for that.
Here are some more examples so you get where I'm coming from.

I second Zed's picks, I was gonna suggest Within Temptation next. Sounds like your looking for some symphonic shit as well.
Also...joke song for your genre:

There's also Vienna Teng, who plays some pretty moody piano.

Type O Negative sounds pretty "Gothic" to me, and Wikipedia says they are, but you might not like the sound of Peter Steele's voice.
Here's the first song I got when I typed them in on Youtube. It's a pretty good representation:

Too bad Peter died :C
On a related note, Danzig sounds similar to Type O Negative.
