Alright. So my computer has been abused. My entire family has this nasty habit of download tons of random shit all the time, and because of that, our computer is a metaphorical piece of shit. I have been going through and deleting random shit on our computer for a long time now, and its getting to the point where I am getting confused as to what goes with what. I have several weirdly named folders on the computer that consist of random letters and numbers with barely anything in them. I was wondering if there is a way to a. speed up my computer (safely) and b. identify what is necessary for my computer to still function, so I can delete whatever that it doesn't need.
EDIT. Alright. WTF? I just tried to go in and delete a folder named f208617d2748ffe89ac286 and it said access denied. I have no idea why I don't have access to this fucking folder.
How to speed up my computer

Maybe a virus? I'd run a scan if you are denied access to anything.

1. Scan for viruses/trojans/malware/watnot
2. Start/AllPrograms/Accessories/SystemTools/DiskCleanup
3. Delete stuff nobody uses
4. Scan for viruses/trojans/malware/watnot
5. Start/AllPrograms/Accessories/SystemTools/DiskDefragmentor
6. Get better RAM (Optional)
7. Get new graphics card (Optional)
8. If it's still slow save all important files to a disk and reinstall windows.
9. ????
10. Profit!

CTRL+ALT+DELETE
Once the window is up, go to the processes tab, organize everything by the MEM usage, end explorer.exe since it uses a bit of memory and see how that works. I did it and it really helps, it increases my in game FPS from 40 to around 55 and my load times for things are a lot faster.

reinstalling your OS is probably the best you could do.

Make your own account, and reinstall your version of Windows. I hope that might help you out.
