If that's going into a competition you must think you have some kind of luck on your side dude
First of all, as you said, the linework is horrible. It's patchy and overall uneven like, everywhere.
Other big issues being that, you said that you tried to swab your shading, but I can't see any of this shading that you speak of. Unless you were just talking about the tiny bit of shadow near the base of the mushrooms, in which case, you really should be fully aware that that is not nearly enough shading and wouldnt make sense with any possible light scourse.
Also, I'm not even going to begin on what's wrong with whatever that dark streak on the right mushroom is(I'm hoping to god that's not shading) and on how un-grass like the grass looks.
You need to practice more my dude

actually my cousin is quite bad at art too we are both going to improve to a maximum
I have always had a problem with too much shadow. Is it advised i use graded pencils because this was all done in a HB
Is there a shading tutorial. All mine suggested using a cotton swab but that obviously hasnt worked well because i shaded THE WHOLE thing with it :3

I can see you made effort into drawing the top of the mushrooms. You could mayby have put in a little more effort with the stick(thing that connects the mushroom-top with the grass). I would recommend you practice shading, overall it looks great to me...

It doesnt look great. I made this as a practice which took an age to plan. i havent been sketching for long.
I wanted general cnc and help :S just sayin
