Hi,
My name is Shane. I'm the antisocial guy who made Megaman X Fanimation (see below).
I've been into stick fighter animations since Xiao Xiao first made an appeared online.
3D animation got the best of me before I could get started in Flash though.
That being said I never let go of that interest and have been watching what
goes on in the stick fighter community (FluidAnimations to be exact).
Not sure if I'll ever get around to making my own, but I'm here to read up once in
a while and learn from your experiences. Keep making awesome stuff!
Hello from an MMX fan.

I remember seeing that animation, and it is still as awesome as it was the first time I saw it, never though you were ''on'' stickpage though 0_0 I am more of a megaman 1 to 6 fan, but that's because I never really tried megaman X, but now that I watched that video I'll play it right away!
Hope you make more :D

Oh, he hadn't? I thought he's part of Rooster Teeth. That's just my assumption, though.

i assumed he made this because i think he told us that he made this?

The reason I deleted my post. But honestly, I never thought a person with ties with Rooster Teeth (assumption) would be interested in SP.

So, I've watched that video on achievement hunter about 14 times or more,
I have no reason to think you're lying, but you might be, so if you are Shane it's really good to have you here yo.

Hey thanks.
And yes, I did make this. I started making it before I worked at Rooster Teeth. After finishing up Red Vs Blue Season 10 Monty convinced them to let me finish Megaman X Fanimation during work ours. Originally I was animating the The Raid Redemption OST. RT gave me the choice to either using a legal soundtrack or change all the characters to original characters if I wanted to put the animation out through them. And they told me this the day I was going to upload (right on the 25th anniversary). I was like, shoot no way I'm changing the characters...and the music from their libraries was not working for me. I spent the next 3 day (no sleep in between) hustling to make my own soundtrack. People complained about it not being megaman remixes but sheesh. If I had the time I would have loved doing more mm themed music. People gave me flack for not making the story more true to mmx, but that is another thing I had to accept because of time. Originally it was going to go much further and actually tie bridge the 100 gap between Megaman X and Megaman Zero. Oh well. I tell em "how about you make something better". I did 98% of the animation. There were a could moves that Monty helped modify to look cooler. He gave me lots of advise in the process. He didn't want any credit but I would not feel good about that.
So yeah...time. If only we had more of it. But we have the same 24 hours a day to make it happen. Just need to get faster. I would like to continue the story. But for now, all my time is going toward RWBY.
To be honest I was looking for the FluidAnimations forum (which I have been familiar with for a while) but it lead me here. Without really looking into it I kind of assumed maybe there was a name change or new admin. But I love stick fighter animations in general no matter who made them or what community it comes from.
I started making a few sketch animations here and there. Maybe you already know about this, but I was happy to discover the self rendering v-cam with AS3 support, so now I can export png sequences from it (unlike v-cam 2.0): Self-Rendering V-Cam So I've been messing around with it getting excited about Flash again.
There was a short project I start years ago in Flash that I'ld like to finish. Just a test shot:
http://vimeo.com/9561500
Not the usual stick figter type things though. I drew all of the scenery elements on paper and scanned them.
The samurai was animated in Flash. Then it was put together in AfterEffects for the 3D card look.
Thinking like a game though with sprites though. Run cycle, a set of attack animations, etc. But then the environment would have this look.
At the time my computer was ready to poop out from the high resolution but these days I think it would handle much better.

Just a friendly suggestion,
try not to post multiple times in a row, it's frowned upon and if done repeatedly is infractable
In regards to the FluidAnims thing, The site was merged with Stickpage due to a mutual agreement between stone and CrazyJay in the interest of money
If you are interested in the actual animation part of the community, it has mostly migrated over to hyunsdojo.com as of recently, so you might want to sign up there as well, seeing as the animation forums here have been a little dry recently.
Also, the samurai thing was pretty sweet bro, I'm really digging the moving background, although I'm not too keen on the actual samurai's run.
