Humor eh? Could be a challenge...
Though people should animate it the way they want it to be animated. That's why it's called Best Sequence Execution, because it's YOU who decides what to do with the provided combo. I disagree with the achievements systems, it's a bit bias IMO but IDRK. Some might agree, but I think the only thing that should be specified by the host is the combo, not the dimensions, not the stick figure style, not the humor, not the seriousness, not the ambience, nothing else but the combo. It gives us liberty in executing the attacks, anyway it's the real reason why BSE is here, to make us decide on our own ^.^

If humour gets an achievement, for this one I'd give it to that part with the flower and the guy who wants peace and friendship for everyone...

the comedy is quite a good idea as an achievement but what would the prize be because i guess the prize wouldnt be anything then i see no downfall but also no upheave to the point in the first place

If you can make a sweet combo including humor in it.. you can perfrctly win :I

And by achievements.... the only thing that you might win is just a little medal in the frontpage but nothing with points, or real prizes.

Humour shouldn't be that big of a chunk when it comes to judging and final verdict. If so, that's only gonna cause a large influx of animators who are willing to do something so little for something so big. It will start having people think, but having so much parts with so much humour is gonna degrade the entire BSE as a whole.

Humour should just be a very small part of the BSE. Shouldn't be something that gets you a full win. That will cause another BSE conspiracy.


Also, if you guys really want to add in some more achievements, at least keep them like how we did misc. achievements.

I don't think introducing achievements is such a good idea, all it's doing is causing controversy...
I think animations should just be judged on how entertaining it is like usually;

Was it good, not really? 4/10

Was it entertaining, yeah but there was that one bit. 6/10

I agree, BSE is about combos. It all about how much effort you put in it and humour can remove the effort because it is just a concept of an animation which will make the animator show less effort in his/her work and focus alot on the comedic thing instead of the action. Humour will just ruin everything in this competition because this competition is all about action, fighting and putting your animation skills to a whole new level not showing any funny business at all.

Yes I am with you..

Man every time someone poses an idea everyone just whines. Anyways effort is the biggest thing for me atleast, you can make something humorous with just as much effort as someone that put in a serious type of animation. When they say "humor" to me I think of it as a well animated and witty animation, not just tween'd dicks flying around the screen or the overused faces and memes. To be honest it is easier for me to animate fights then to come up with a clever situation and actually animated it well. The only reason we associate humor with crap-tastic anims is because that's about as clever as most of us can get when it comes to that category, because once you have the fighting moves down it's really just copy paste them in another .fla with a new song and maybe a new element. Well, either way I'm just ready for round 2, I have a inside man that told me it's going to be tweens only. So you better get you guidelines ready. I'm shooting for all 1's.
