Please help! I can't change my brush property settings! They appear in the properties window, but they're grayed out and I can't change them...

Another thing, but this may have to do with the aforementioned, when I draw with the brush tool, the preview stroke that's shown before the smoothing takes effect is jagged on the edges, therefore when the smoothing is applied, it isn't enough. You could say just knock up the smoothing, but it still is a bit jagged on the edges and noticeable, and I like to draw with the smoothing off, and I can't because of this. (<-- super run-on right there lol) I'm using the line tool atm to animate, but it's much more tedious in my opinion (separate layers for each body part) and I want to use the brush tool.

Can someone please help me with this? It's driving me crazy! Or, if you think I could use an older version of flash, like macromedias or something, I will, I just don't want to buy it....

EDIT: I download Macromedia Flash 8 and it still does it, just not as bad....I noticed that it's when I go slow that it happens, which sucks because I like to take my time on my figures....and when I up it to 50 or something, it's smooth, but it changes my line too much.

Here's a pic, please tell me if it's supposed to be like this:

Flash CC which is the Creative cloud version. The newest version.

EDIT: I downloaded Macromedia Flash 8 and there was still a slight problem. I took a screenshot, let me know if this is normal or if something is wrong with my mouse settings

On Flash 8 you probably want smoothing 35.

Because, if your lines are on the same layer, they intercept and cut each other up. So, putting each body part on a separate layer negates this and keeps your sizes consistent. (WAY more tedious though..)

But, since then I have been using brush tool with a smoothing of 40 and it seems to be okay...maybe I was overreacting and drawing too feverishly.

No, dude, you don't need to. As long as you don't edit the lines afterwards, it doesn't make a difference. You don't edit the body parts with the brush, so it wouldn't be required with the line either. Just draw each frame on 1 or 2 layers as you would with the brush.

Oh. Flash CC actually had some negative feedback due to this issue. It's nothing wrong with your settings or anything. It's the program itself.

In other words: The issue can't be fixed unless an update for Flash CC fixes it.

hmmmn IntelHD Graphics card usually has this wobbly strokes problem I haven't used NVIDIA but I don't think it should be happening. Maybe you should try your tablet or trying using flash 8 in another machine preferably a machine with AMD graphics or Radeon Graphics. And if you get a smoother stroke then that mean it's the same problem the Intel HD graphics has that your Graphics card has. It may be a powerful and efficient hardware you have but if they've put all the graphics processing power into the wrong place then you are bound to get the wobbly stroke problem. Let me know how you get on.

Ok thanks for the reply. Just to be clear, when you draw with Smoothing at 0, it should still be smooth and match your stroke, correct? I might just be a wobbly drawer...but yeah I tried with my tablet and it still was happening.

If you have an Intel core i3/5/7 then HD graphics is paired with nVidia. I have an nVidia GEFORCE GTX 635M, but flash CC is set to use HD graphics by default. Try going to the app directory and right click on flashpro.exe and change 'use graphics processor'.

Nah apex when you have this monster and your graphic card everything should be perfect.

I'm sorry to tell you but I remember been reading about flash CC and one of it's main issues where the brush's smoothness. And I don't know if there's a way to fix this.
