Personally, I'm excited about the buff to tank junglers. There's no greater feeling than absorbing the entire enemy team's damage for 10 seconds while your team tears them apart.

This patch made me smile that they're bringing back tanky junglers with the new item. The fact that they also buffed Mao and Zac to an extent was a take in the right direction.

Do any of you happen to have a PBE account? The new Doom Bots give me chills. The map is Darker, the music is eerie and the bots have super powers and are glowing purple and stuff... it's so... MY GOD.

Welp. I did my best to try out the new Kassadin. I tried a few different builds before caving in and copying the build everyone uses on him these days, and gave him my very best shot. I really did.

So to start off, lane phase is fucking aggrivating. Before level 6 you can only walk around slapping people with your wet noodle of a sword and nerf ball of a Q, unable to farm because you have zero tankiness, zero range, and no defense against harass except an insignificantly small shield on your Q that does no damage, even if you max it first. And against AD, you're fucked. You're a fish flopping around in the water while champs with regular damage try to grab you so they can shove their dicks down your toothless throat. All you can do is desperately flop away. You lose great chunks of HP to regular attacks while your spells scrape away millimeters out of their health bar that they instantly heal back. I played extremely defensively, and despite facing a very aggressive Yasuo and getting camped by a Xin Zhao, I did not die. I even had 100 cs to my opponent's 130 by the time lane phase was over.

Could I attempt to roam and get kills that way while lane phase was over? Fuck no. I made it about a quarter of the way to bot lane before Yasuo powerpushed to the turret with his free, manaless massive AoE damage and started slicing it to ribbons. I took the ganks I could well, even managed to get some kills, and still did not die. Even though Kass's ult is nice, its damage is literally not noticeable. All it means is that I can run away more quickly when any other champ in the game with 2x my damage output and tankiness makes any kind of attack on me, that I can't retaliate against because Kass's base damage is smaller than a 40-year-old neckbeard's dick in freezing water. I fucking struggled. I managed to get my Rod of Ages, my Lich Bane, and my Zhonyas Hourglass. When teamfights started happening, I managed to get some more kills too. But were they good kills? Were they fun? Not a chance. I was the runt in a pack of hyenas, only good for nibbling at the legs of my team's prey as they hunted them down, before snagging the last chunk of their health by using my full burst combo to barely do half of their weakest champ's health bar.

Now, mind you, my score was now 10/1/14. This is really fed. If I were any other champ, any champ in the game, including Soraka, including fucking Nami, I would be deadly. I'd be a snowballed, fed motherfucker who could do truckloads of damage. People would need to focus their fire in order to kill me before I wiped out 2 or more of the enemy on my own.

Kassadin? With a perfectly executed combo, waiting until the perfect moment in a teamfight to assassinate my target Kog Maw (one of the squishiest adcs in the game, even), bypassing their entire front line with my ult and giving my target hell,

I hardly did 90% of his health. And then I instantly died.

If I was Katarina, I could have deleted their entire team. With Syndra I'd cast my ultimate and nothing else and that Kog Maw would be dead. Veigar would do 2000 damage to their entire team with a single spell. Lissandra would win the teamfight with her ult alone, while being completely untargetable all the while.

But Kassadin? After struggling and fighting against the enemy team's best efforts to shut me down and managing to become "really fed," Kassadin was good for nothing more than pulling up his gay as fuck purple robes and begging for quadruple penetration while he desperately tries to deal damage that he just can't do.

By the way, I ended the game 10/10/15. We lost.

Ye Pin I have a PBE account. Doom bots are fucking crazy lol. Shame they're disabled for a bit. Alos, when is Riot gonna change Nautilus' fucking W? People have been asking for it to be changed since he came out. If he kept the damage buff even if the shield goes down he would be infinitely more viable!

Dunno bout the new summoners rift. I mean it does look pretty and all, but the only thing I really want from the new map is less bugs.

Got chogath: he's slow and boring, with no remarkable moves
Got Lissandra twice in a row in aram: faced vel both times, her ult cancels his and roofles his djangos
Got Frost Queens Claim both times: Probably Lissandra's most solid item, until very end game when you may sell it for DFG or something with a little more oomph.

Also I think the active on frost queens claim is super underrated. Especially on a champion like Lissandra. Sure it's only a 2 second slow, but it really makes a difference because sometimes 2 seconds is all you need.

that was... really interesting to read, considering that Kassadin is considered the strongest champion in the game in the pro scene.

I can't honestly disagree, having played Kass a few times after his rework too...

then again you probably could have went for IBG instead of Lich Bane to not instantly die (that armor actually means a lot, especially against a Yasuo, and Lich Bane is really not worth it in the early game anymore after the nerfs), and did you have a Seraph's to go with your RoA?

I'm not really sure that he's meant to be a oneshotting assassin anymore. I think you can still catch out enemies on their own pretty well.

I already had an extensive conversation with devour concerning kassadin outside of this thread.

I don't think he's weak, or OP. I think he's boring, he's an assassin without thrill because he doesn't feel like he earns any of his kills. Just cheaply teleports in and gets the last hit.

Playing as him isn't rewarding.
