The meta game is speedy, people play a lot of champs with mobility/escapes. Azir and Rek'sai are a little bit overpowered, because riot hasn't quite gotten around to nerfing them appropriately.

The new jungle is hardcore, a lot harder for squishy assassins to deal with. So most people play bulky junglers which probably explains some of the shift to speedy escape artists.

Got it. I have no idea who Azir and Rek'sai are but in time I'll familiarize myself with all the new champs.

What's the lane composition like?

In mid lane I see a lot of Zed, Fizz, Yasuo and Katarina. There's so much Zed being played right now it's ridiculous.
Bottom lane Vayne, Graves, Lucian and Ezreal are popular right now. Though there was a short stint of Cait being really popular.
Top lane is more diverse than the other lanes, the way I see it, can't spot too much of a trend.
Support is very diverse too, with thresh being hands down the most popular.

And this is against silver/gold players usually. But I feel like in general the meta has shifted to more speedy champions with dashes/escapes.

I don't see a lot of her, but she's still viable. If you're good with her ultimate and spread shot you can do some serious damage.

I was about to comment on how there's a sort of anti meta with CC abilities. Though CC has always been great. I've been defying the trends and been playing a lot of nautilus. As he has no escape and is legendarily slow. But he's great for disrupting all the speedsters with free escapes as I don't give them much chance to use them.

Just last night I ganked a lee sin out of river top lane 3 times and he told me that Nautilus was unquestionably OP. I told him to ward river and pay attention to the map, there's nothing OP about expecting you to do that.
Just found out Riot buffed Nautilus today.

He's just used to using his ninja kick and free escapes to get away from everything lazily.

And they Buffed my top laner, Renekton.

Just played with Devour and Jutsu, good times were had.
