So...I'm currently downloading tf2 and I was around 80% yesterday...but after opening steam today. It fucking reset to 0. You have no idea how pissed off I am right now...I mean, It took me a fucking while to get around that and steam just wanted to fuck my progress...

Is there any way to regain it back or stop it for happening again? (I've already googled the problem and the solution involves moving some stuff at the steam folder...)

did you just minimize it or did you close it?

Close it. (I sometimes minimize it.)

But closing it doesn't really shut it down. It just goes to my taskbar (like skype)

...Alright. But still, Can you even get your previous progress? Because this download will take for a damn month because of my internet speed.

Just leave Steam open and don't exit the program, just minimize it, as Hydra said.
However, I'm not sure if there's a way to get your previous progress back.

Oh...damn. I was really hoping to play that game today because all I needed was 20% more :/

Anyway, thanks.

Shouldn't it already notice that you have some of the files? Also, if you do exit steam during a download I believe you can pause it, and keep your progress when it restarts. Not 100% on this though.

That's what I've been doing before I exit steam and it sure worked. (Until last night.)
