@Molgera that's because either companies were running out of ideas or some are working on a better game.

Also, guess Im late of this topic, but I played the Stanley Parable Demo last Sunday. Even just the demo, man that game is so great like, it was actually irl. I wanna buy the full version tho, but I guess I can ask this vacation.

Games with creativity are nice, but in the end what matters to me is what makes a game the most fun. Of course creativity goes in tangent with that, but games like 3D World (which, by your definition, wouldn't necessarily be creative) is insanely fun. Your definition of creativity also undermines games like Link Between Worlds which is by no means a bad game.

I got Pokémon Emerald and a DS emulator for my macbook. I don't know why I didn't choose Mudkip as a starter pokemon when I played it on my gameboy all those years ago.

What I mean by creativity is that they should try to make the game original and fresh. But the main point of playing a game is for fun, which is what every video game company is targeting. They also need an audience that supports the games so they can buy their games more. The fans who like the games.

Bravely Default is awesome. Get a 3DS already it has amazing games

I wish Rare was never sold to Microsoft. Banjo-Kazooie has to be one of my favorite game series everrrrr. The world needs more collect-a-thon action platformers.
