STONE's
Animation Crew and Internship
So, on my morning walk today I got to thinking, as I usually do, about my day and whats about to come.
What I need to do, what I'd like to do, and what needs to be done. I've found day after day on my walk I always come to the same conclusion.
Not enough time. I never have enough time to get done what needs to be done for the community animation wise. I have an amazing team of moderators and administrators around the site
that take a huge load of weight off my back in the majority to if-not-all of the daily community over viewing of the forums which I am forever grateful for.
With this in mind, I thought to myself, there are a ton of talented, dedicated animators out there looking for some real experience in the field of animation, web development and game design.
This is where I come to my conclusion; I need a dedicated group of talented animators willing to work along side me on a daily basis ( doesn't need to be all day ) on the projects I'm doing in game development and for the site.
Whether this be indulging some new idea that I have to bring to the site ( Like the RHG Trading Cards for instance .) Creating the materials required to achieve said ideas and collaborating with others on these projects.
What a day would be like:
- Communication via twitch or IRC to discuss my daily projects or projects that need to be completed
- Assigning projects or concepts to work out
- correlating teams to complete said projects
- Creating animation / graphics for stickpage.com games and events
- Updating threads and activities
- Gathering information for site updates such as stream links
- Creating screenshots for front page uploads
- Converting swf files to Video format for youtube uploads
- hanging out with me! <333 <---- critical.
- Studying files I'll send out to give more understanding about animation as well as game development in flash!
What you will learn:
- How to work as a team to complete long-term projects as well as short term assignments
- Advanced flash techniques
- Basic and advanced flash game development techniques
- Basic web design and site management
- Social media and marketing
- That making stone happy is totally great.
- A neat little icon to put on your signature showcasing you are in the internship.
What you will get from this:
- An experience of being in the field of flash game development and site management.
- A fresh look at animation and knowledge of techniques I've learned over the years in flash.
- A letter of recommendation from myself for you to take to job offers in or out of the field.
- An introduction into graphic design and print ( in some cases )
- Experience in market research for advertising and social media
- Experience in development of creative new concepts under budgets
- Youtube experience as well as software knowledge for video conversion and more
- love for being of one my amazing children all grow'd up.
How to Apply:
- Post and state your reasons as to why you would like to join the team and what you would like to get from it.
- Your time zone
- How much time you are willing to devote to this project or can devote on a daily basis
- Some examples of your work
I'm looking for serious and dedicated animators only! Many of you out there are even more talented than myself with less years in the field. However, this doesn't mean that I don't have a plethora of information to share with you to further your talents. I'm ready to expand and get a team going. I am only one man, and that is not enough for our community. I need my friend to band together with me and we'll really shake this place up.
I'm excited to see who I can take on!
EDIT:
Now I've made my decision and I've setup the initial organization board with some info on getting started. I want to say that I respect and appreciate all of you who have applied. I'm going to applaud you for taking the time and effort to organize your information for me to evaluate. Before I announce who is official in the program, I want to say that at any-time I may be removing or adding in people for various tasks and reasons.
So, even if you don't get into the initial start of the program, something may come up that we request you to join. Without further adieu, here are my selections for the SAC&I program.
