I meant it as in bump it, and bring it to people's attention.

And bring it to attention I shall. First I'mma link some classic iFiction that's been around for quite sometime:

Photopia (1998) - Just wonderfully written and an unconventional storytelling device for its time. There's barely a game here so just sit back for the ride (meaning all you mostly do is walk around and enjoy the experience)

Lost Pig (2007) - You're an orc who is trying to find a pig in a series of tunnels all the while evading something in the darkness. Oh and the story is told from your perspective. The orc.

Slouching Towards Bedlam (2003) - Puts you in the shoes of an asylum employee who, after the death of a recent inmate, uncovers a mystery with cults and shit.

I'll link more later.

For a bit, it looked like this thread was about gathering a bunch of writers and making our own interactive fiction story. That would be cool.
If every participant made their own alternate story, we could get a really complex storyline done no problemo, and with some good editing we could make it all fit together too.

Hey, I can be up for that. But it can't just be another Complete the Story. It has to actually have branching paths and shit imo.

Otherwise, it's just complete the story. There has to be some interactivity, know what I mean?

Yeah, I agree. Rather than having everyone write their own thing with no prior discussion, we'd have to have a big old thing outlining the general plot of the story and what happens where. It'd be decided by everyone of course and they'd decide who wants to do what. I bet it's totally doable though

A general scheme, and we could write the path of one seperate character or something.

Or a choose-your-own-adventure, and we all just write the different paths and shit.

This text adventure was made using the free "Quest" text adventure creation program!

Click here for a Word Document version (It has all the right and wrong ways of doing things, so it's kind of "un-fun" to read. It's much better to actually explore the program in Quest. This document is basically a giveaway of all the game's content, so if you're a nice person, please don't view this version if you're planning on getting it for the Quest program.)

If you have Quest already, click here for the actual game version created by Quest, for Quest.

If you're interested in it, the link to the site is here

Basically, it is a simple program that allows you to create text for one page, and then link that page to the next with its URL.

I don't know what the choice limit is yet, but you're all welcome to find out!

Let's say the first page of the adventure says "Welcome to Quest".
There is a link on the page that says "Click me".

If you click it, you go to the page it belongs to. Every link can be assigned to a page. And every page can be renamed to whatever you like in the editor.

Once you've clicked "Click me", the next page would appear.

You are congratulated with success, given another problem to deal with, and more options leading to more pages...or to your death.

I don't know how clear I made that. It's hard to insert images here.

Enjoy! PM me if you have any questions!

So I was looking back at this thread and decided to link an interactive fiction I've played and was a little surprised no one had mentioned yet, so here we go!

From what I recall, it was made with Flash. Not going to explain anything, just go ahead and try "You Find Yourself in a Room"

(Edit: For those with issues similar to me I will mention there are no jump scares, bright lights, or sounds involved)

Added Kyra's game to the frontpage.

Thinking of updating this thread as I found a ton of IF over the past year. But for now, seeing as its Halloween, I think you guys would benefit from this:

The Uncle Who Works For Nintendo is a Quest IF, written by the guy who wrote My Father's Long Long Legs (link at the front of this thread). You play as a kid in the 90s who sleeps over at a friend's house, who has said uncle. Then shit happens...

There are 6 unlockable endings. Discussions and more game reccs welcome. Also, put spoilers if you plan to talk about plot stuff.

Gentlemen, let's start throwing down some ideas. It'd be hella cool to do a proper Scarecrow's Psychedelic Adventure game, but I have a feeling that'd be a big undertaking.

We need a small, simple idea for us to work with as we figure out how/if this works. Anybody got a simple plot in mind?

You should totally add my WIP Pokemon VN to this despite it having only 1 potential ending upon completion.

You thinking about a CYOA or an actual Adventure with inventory and puzzles and stuff?

Also, what's usually the plot plots of these things. I never read your gen threads.

probably just a CYOA for starters, but properly constructed into a game, not just forum posts.
