A Major Suggestion, Addressing the Spearton

As many of you know, the Spearton has been changing around a bit with its abilities, yet it still seems... "uncertain"

So the purpose of this thread is to suggest a whole Spearton overhaul, with these listed changes:

-Shield Wall and Shield Bash: I propose that perhaps if you have at least six Speartons, the Ability of "Shield Wall" will have the option to switch to "Spearton Phalanx" when at least six Speartons are selected and very closely aligned.

-Spearton Phalanx: A mode in which Speartons act the same as Shield Wall w/Bash but get the "Wall" Property... (OMG BUDDY THATS FUCKING OP) before you say that, I would suggest that yes they can block enemies from passing like walls, but they can still be passed by Shinobi Ninjas, Flight Units and Giants.
*Also to make this simply balanced with chaos, you could always give the JuggerKnights an ability with the "Wall" property with the minimum of six*

-Spearton Advance: This is a suggestion to help shield wall be easier/more effective to use, this could be a passive ability that when the ability is "Green" (Active), the Speartons will slowly walk forward while in Shield Wall/Phalanx mode, and when "Red" (Inactive) they stand still. My hope is that this ability will solve the problem of Speartons having to get in and out of Shield Wall/Phalanx just to move

I feel these abilities are needed due to the weakness of archers against chaos, if one simply masses JuggerKnights and Eclipsors with 1-2medusas, the Juggers and Eclipsors will always be able to just ignore the speartons and chase the archers, and medusa makes mages useless. If these ideas were implemented, then archers won't have to be on a constant retreat, and Jugger+Eclipsor vs. Spearton+Archer Battles may become quite balanced.

So what are your opinions on this?

pretty sure its spelt phalanx, but otherwise great idea, i certainly hope it will be implemented

order is oP as it is but yes it would be cool to see that in the game i think crawlers should get buff imo

Maybe we should just wait for elementals and then start these threads. Having a new empire is going to mess up the balance.

Can't wait for all the "Elementals OP" threads that will come out.

Please, no. Speartons and archers are already some of the most solid units right now, as we can see from meta, just from the pure DPS. Archers work against chaos, and are especially needed to deal with wings. While against deads, archers aren't as powerful, archers can still deal some solid damage against juggers.

Great, Spearcher centralizes the meta even more. If anything, we need a nerf to shield wall. Maybe reduce damage reduction to 30% instead of the current 40%.

It doesn't work like that. Juggerknights don't necessarily play the same role as spears. Juggers standing around doing nothing like a spear in shield wall won't work. Know why? They don't have the 40% damage reduction. That's huge. Not only that, they can't be quickly healed with merics like spears can.

Archers+Spear is a hard counter to Eclipsors. Besides that, you're saying this like massing a bunch of units like that is easy to do.

I would love that, but really, spears are over-centralizing the entire game already. Almost every situation could do with a couple of spears, starting from the moment you can afford one. The mid game phase, in particular focuses extremely on speararcher.

What you're proposing is that speartons become moving, heal-able miner walls that can damage and stun units that attack it up close. Can you even imagine what would happen to the game?

Unless every other unit in the game gets a buff like this, it won't be balanced. It's not just chaos vs order, just think about how annoying the spearton already is in Order vs Order.

Ok so...Giving the "Wall" Property (Spearton Phalanx) is a "NO!"

But what about at least the Spearton advance?
I mean it is really logical to at least have the "Spearton Advance" (Who can't walk forward because they are holding their shield in front of them with a slight crouch?). Also we could maybe make "Spearton Advance" have only a 10% damage reduction and no shield bash as they are walking, 40% when stopped and can shield bash.

These suggestions are to make the game more fun, I suppose I should have taken the OPness into consideration...but I think it would be cool...
