Now I know that some of us threw a big shit-fit about it, partly due to some lost anonymity, but here's something you might find interesting:
You can choose to watch and post under the name of your Youtube account, if you have one. I'm fairly certain you can still create one, and comment with that instead. How do I know this? Because that's what I do. It prompted me about it, and I chose my YT account. It's that simple. And up at the upper right corner of the page, where it shows who you logged in as, there should be an option to change who you are browsing as. So if any of you are still butthurt about that, you don't have an excuse anymore :D
Let me just dispel something about Youtube's new G+ commenting thing.

It's not the fact that we've lost anonymity, well at least to me it's not. Pretty much everyone knows you can change accounts. In fact, you're pretty fucking late in figuring this out.
The reason people are upset is because Google is trying to get involved with everything. Google Plus has been failing for well over a year, and they think that implementing it into Youtube will help kickstart the program. For all intents in purposes, it would be like having to sign into your Facebook account to post in and view the Stickpage Forums, despite already being signed in with your Stickpage account.

I was wondering what all the fuss was about after the change to google plus so you have cleared it up a bit, but I still don't get it. Google have owned youtube for a pretty long time so they are entitled to do that, aren't they? (Genuine question)

of course they are, people hate it because it's a minor inconvenience, not because google has no right to make changes to the services they provide for free

Yes they are, but as the owning company, they should know what their users want and don't want. A change this drastic, especially implementing a social media that about 40 people use, was sure to tick off a lot of people. They should have known better, but they can do whatever the hell they want without caring about their users opinions because there is absolutely no competition to Youtube whatsoever.

They did add the option to pick an account to use. They want to give Plus some uses by doing that but, didn't deny YouTube accounts uses, either. Google has been doing stuff like this for a while now; technically your Plus and YouTube accounts are actually the same Google account, you just decide if you want to comment with your profile or channel.

I see...
I personally agree with Exilement on this because the comment system isn't that bad right now in my opinion. I do prefer the old system but it's just because I have been using it for a while so that is what I am used to. Though you are definitely right about the fact that they can basically do whatever they want because they don't really have any competition, Fries.

Oh don't get me wrong. Personally, I couldn't give two shits about the change. Sure, I was a bit annoyed for two days, but I really don't care about it anymore.
