So I have Corel Painter x3, and while I love it to death, and I love my tablet, I just can't get the right "feel" for my tablet. So today I tried making a landscape from one of my dreams, and it didn't end up that bad. While I think it still looks better in my head, and I know for a fact that I overdid the effects, I'm still rather proud of myself. CnC is appreciated, and heck, if anyone wants to coach me, I'd actually love it. I want to be able to draw my characters online, but I doubt I'll reach that point soon.

View Profile Well... It`s good, but it could be better. Too much sparkles. Their amount and size ruin the massiveness of the tree.
Silhouette drawing is much easier than normal one, so I`d make the outline more clear and detailed. Or... I don`t know, try working with different color combinations? Anyway, the idea is that there are ways to improve your picture.

Yeah, I went seriously nuts with the sparkles. I had been contemplating ways to add in stars when, lo and behold, there's an effect that can make it simpler! Suffice it to say, and future art in this category will
not be this overdone with the sparkle effect. Besides, in all actuality, this was more practice to help me better adjust to both the tablet and the program. What I want is to draw my characters on the computer without them looking awful.

View Profile Well ,if you want to draw characters, then practice in drawing characters! I`d love to see your works.
And I`m glad you can see your mistakes. This means you are able to improve. Concerning the sparkles... there are two ways to make your pictures look better in future: to draw everything without effects or to learn to use the effects wisely. The choice`s yours.

Personally, I'll need the effects, but since I now know more about them, I can probably lighten up on how they're actually used. As for the drawing characters bit, that's in production. I actually attempted that before I did this picture, and, well, it ended terribly, which is why I realized I needed to adapt. Anyways, the next art I post will more likely than not be a character. Still, thanks for the CnC, as it helps a ton overall.
