Ok so when I hear a song i like and want to animate something to it i do what i can to try and get the song file to import to flash. However over half the time there's this stupid "One of more files were not imported because there were problems reading them." So i am wondering, how the heck do i fix this little annoyance? i have already tried audacity, converting them to different sound types and re-downloading the songs back to my computer yet it doesnt want to work. so if you could help me i would appreciate it!

Make sure the file is a .wav file, rather than an .mp3, download Audacity and this problem will be gone. Another thing is to make sure your file is not playing whilst you import it.

The error's have been fixed for me. But, the music wasn't playing and it still started over (while still continuing the song) after i tried it on both wav and mp3 QQ

(It's been happening to some Youtube videos, too)

I've said this a while ago. Hope this helps for you!

Quote from Tsang

Okay, so the reason why certain mp3s aren't able to be read in Flash completely depends on the mp3's sampling rate. If an mp3's sampling rate is over 44100hz, then it won't be read in Flash since Flash can only support mp3s with a sampling rate of 44100hz or any of the sampling rates below that. If a file cannot be read in Flash, that is almost ALWAYS the problem. However, your mp3's sampling rate can usually just be altered and exported once again in an audio editor such as Audacity or Adobe Soundbooth.

But if we're talking about Audacity, you can simply open up your mp3 file in the program and export it from there. The default sampling rate is something Flash can handle, so you don't have to change any settings within Audacity. Unless you have downloaded the LAME mp3 encoder (yes, that's it's name, it can also be found on the official site for Audacity), you can easily export your track into a .wav file and import your newly created file into Flash as if it were any sound effect or song. You should have no problem!

Hope this explanation helped anyone else who was curious of why certain files can't be read in Flash. :D

Also, make sure your music is on "Stream" and not "Event" when you click any part of the music on the frame you put it on.

If you're ever working with sound, Audacity is your go-to program. It's free and you can do crazy amounts of stuff with it. It's helpful in general, even outside of animation. Since it's free, I recommend downloading it ahead of time even if you don't need it atm.

anything other then .wav wont work.

I will answer this question because it has happened to me, and managed to solve.
good if it is any song, the bitrate of a song is 200 bits(kbps), 300 (depending music), to put on the flash you have to convert it to 128 bits(kbps), with any program that converts music, video etc. I recommend you to convert with FORMAT FLACTORY, is a good program to convert videos, music ,pictures etc.
:D
