GUITAR BATTLE

Well, I relieazed that my thought and actions toward guitar schmero were VERY amature. I shouldn't have started such a big project with the little knowledge of AS I had at the time.

So, I've gone back to idea drafting. So, while I was sitting playing guitar today, watching my friends noobishly button mash their n64 controllers trying to play SSB, I had the idea.

THE CONCEPT

The concept is fairly basic, it will be a 2 player, non-AI fighting game, in which two people must kill the other, using their guitars.

Now, you may be asking "WTH ARE YOU CONSTANTLY DOING SOMETHING ABOUT GUITARS?!"

Well, that I don't know either, but guitars are kinda my forte', so I have a lot of knowledge about them.

Anyway, here are my ideas so far:

IDEAS

Simple Charcters: (Red, Blue, Black, etc.)
Solid Body and Hollow Body Guitars, including:
      Gibson Les Paul
      Gibson Flying V
      Gibson SG
      Epiphone Masterbilt Acoustic

3 Different Spots to brawl in

I'm also going to have three different game types:
    Timed
    Lives
    Pro (One life per player)

AS

Now, I have an idea on AS here, I just want to know if anybody can help me on the following topics:

Moves (i.e. baseball bat-like swin, jump swing etc.)
    A Timer
    Character Selection
    Lives

And, if you're interested in art work or animating, I will allow some help to a degree.

So, if you were patient enough to read all of this, you may post some ideas you have.

NOTICE

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT, ASK TO BE A CHARACTER IN THIS ONE. I'M NOT DRAWIN ADDITIONAL DETAILS TO THE CHARACTERS. DO NOT REQUEST WHAT GUITARS YOU WANT IN THE GAME. I HAVE MY OWN LIST READY.

If you want me to help out in the backgrounds department, just give me a call.

I'd gladly draw some arenas up for you, so you can spend more tiem and resources on the AS itself.

Okay so let me get this straight.. you're going to make a game where a player:

1. Selects a character
2. Fights the other player using a set of moves, and the winner will be determined by the number of wins in a set...
3. ...time limit, or in an elmination game based off of...
4. ...lives

What exactly would you be coding in this, then?

I'll be doing movement (walking, jumping, running), score, lives, envoirment, and interface.

And I'll be glad if someone could do backgrounds.

The backgrounds will probably be:

    Small Stage
    Stage with musical equipment
    Backstage

And I will probably have single player mode.

Ok!

So I've gotten a list of guitars all planned out:

For Solid Body:

The blade will be an unlockable guitar. It'll look like a Les Paul, but the neck will have very sharp edges, dealing more damage and increasing the chance of decapitation (spelling?). Decapitation will get you more points at the end of a round.

Hollow Body:

    Epiphone Masterbilt Acoustic
    Epiphone Masterbilt Classical Acoustic

Hollow body's deal less damage, but are lighter, meaning you can do faster attacks.

I just got my flash working again so I'll go ahead and get some concept art for you guys.

Ok,

I just got an SG done. Should I add strings to it?

Any features you don't see on it?

How's the color?

I have never seen a guitar hero controller of that color.
Only the red one.
Make it...a...uh...alien green?
Well something like that, not too light, not too dark.
Also make the pick-ups like that.
Try and do an explorer or something, and give it a natural finish.
Deadface.

Why are you just going full-on Gibson? No Fender, ESP/LTD, Shecter?

I admit, Gibson's are my fave too, but why ONLY Gibson?

Your right, why Gibson?
Well then, go with a Fender Strat glossed over with a classic white finish that drips with sex.

Actually, now that I think about it,

I have an ESP I can use. The F-50 in cherry.

Maybe, you can make a move where you have to land a few notes, and you damage the opponent?
