Discovery of the Manuscript (Click to Show)

Upon reading the title, an image of what might be a medieval knight appears in your head, and everything in your mind connects this image to the name. Flipping to the next page, you realize that the gold-cover page is entirely blank. You take a few moments to wrap your head around the phenomenon, and everything suddenly goes black. When you open your eyes again, you can smell the scent of flowers, and see a grassy, flower covered field beyond, the horizon made irregular by the outlines of rolling hills and what looks like a massive city in the distance. You press your hand to your head and notice with a jolt that your hand is wrapped in an iron gauntlet. Suddenly coming to your senses you realize that you are wearing a suit of armor. Carefully standing up from the tree you were apparently resting against, you pick up the shield leaned up against the truck of the large oak and subconsciously rearrange the sword strapped to your belt to a more comfortable position, unsure of where the hell you are, and what to do next...

How this game will work is essentially how a textventure works. You post suggestions for the character to do, and I will decide what happens based on the responses. I encourage you to think outside the box, as I expect to throw some humor into the story, as well as some random events that are just there for shits and giggles. There aren't really any rules except to put an # if you are talking out of character, and follow the rules of the forum itself. Sexual innuendo is also fine, just dont overdo it

It's not impossible, if you know the right BBCode.

Or you could use a blank line.

I don't want to be off topic so I guess I should tell you to check your pockets and look around.

If this was in the OLit section, I would nitpick your sentence organization skills to death. It's that bad.

But since that's not really the point of this thread, go ahead and run it. It's passable.

While you cant find any pockets that aren't covered by the armor, you realize that you have a satchel hanging at belt level. A quick search reveals
a map, a small book with a quill and a corked inkbottle (likely a journal of some kind), five lockpicks in a small leather pouch, and a couple of healing potions. Hanging from your belt, next to the satchel, is a coinpurse. It's a little bit heavy, which suggests anywhere from 100 to 200 gold coins.

Taking note of your surroundings, you notice a much smaller town about 50 meters to the east, far closer than the city over the distant hills

#How did you know it was in modern English if you didn't see any of the text?

Anyway, check if you are male or female because, we don't know too much about Sir Ostrich.

Wouldn't you count the coinpurse first? There is a HUGE difference between 100 GOLD COINS and 200 of them.

Go to the small town you're right outside of, and demand to see the mayor. If they refuse, prepare to lay waste to that pathetic village and pillage it entirely.
...and if they accept, ask the mayor if there's any knightly duties he has for a man such as yourself.

I also suggest you count how many coins are in your purse.
