“Something interesting just popped up” – I typed. I’m glad my face was hidden behind a screen because I had a really large grin in my face showing that I had something up my sleeve.

“And what might that be?” – Sonia replied. She probably knew that though.

“I need your help to do it though. When can you come?”

“When you tell me what it is. It’s never something good when you try to hide it.”

I chuckled as I answered:

“Don’t worry. It’s nothing life threatening. I just want to invite you to attend a ball with me.”

The pencil animation rolled for a few seconds, erased everything shortly after and then repeated the process a few more times before something finally appeared on my screen.”

“A… ball?”

“Yeah.” I immediately sent back “It’ll be a nice opportunity to make some contacts and get some information. Besides, it might be fun! : D”

In retrospect, I have to assume I chose my words poorly and ended up slightly angering her, given the response, though I didn’t notice that until later.

“If it's information you want, why not bring Selena with you? She’d be much more efficient than me.”

“Really? >_> While you’re not wrong, Selena doesn’t do all that well in formal events. She’s not rude or anything, but she lacks the elegance you have. Neither does Elena. I need you.”

I suppose that’s what she wanted to hear because her response changed her apparent tone dramatically.

“Aww, that’s such an adorable way of saying ‘I miss you.’ ”

I couldn’t help but blush and even started typing a retort, but ended up deleting it. In the end, she was right.

“So, are you coming or do I have to beg?” I ended up typing instead.

“Your words, not mine ^_^”

I sighed; I guess I did lead the conversation into it.

“Sonia, would you please be my date to the very first wRHG ball? (also… I need help in picking a suit and a tie)

There was a slight delay in the response, which I assumed she was doing on purpose to tease me, but I still blinked with surprise at the answer she gave before quickly editing it:

“No.” “Just kidding. Of course I will :P”

God damn it, Sonia!

Another sentence was still added though:

“But I expect a pickup at the airport and that you treat me as a lady at all times.”

“Don’t I already do that o_O?”

“Just keep at it, ok?”

I smiled. Happy to know she would come.

“I will. And thanks.”
