Today Russia and China vetoed the UK's and USA's proposal of political and economic sanctions being placed on Mugabe by the UN that would potentially pressure him and his peers out of their position of power.

What are your views on the actions of Russia and China, and the Zimbabwe situation as a whole?

I can see where Russia and China are coming from, I mean both of them have had economic embargoes placed on them numerous times over the last 50 years or so. I think that they are actually respecting a nations sovereignty despite the fact that the leadership is a dictatorship. As currently the US and the UK(NOT A REAL COUNTRY) are acting like the world police, and are doing what Magarbwa(sp?) is doing but on a international level.

hahahaha, that cracked me up... nah, jk hihi -.-

I think they should like help the other guy, so not that dictator, to get the dictator out. Like, assasinate him and his buds or something. Maybe do what they did to saddam hussein.

What you mean pretend that they have WMD's when you just want to "install a democratic society, by violently imposing it."

Wait a minute that sounds just like a dictatorship, hang on here. Isn't the point of installing a democratic society mean that everyone can choose who is in power, but here is the USA throwing its weight around telling every country how it can be run, with out asking anyone previously.

Haven't you seen on the news how bad those people are being treated?
They are forced, FORCED to vote for that dickshit. Killing that bastard and then putting a democracy there is much better than what's going on now.

And btw, who said anything about US?

One year ago there is no way I would have agreed with this, but It really seems logical now. We cant police the world, we cant rule it either. The united states has leaped and rocketed over its boundaries way to many times.

We cant just invade and assassinate a leader whenever we want to just because we disagree with how he runs things.
Deadface.

He wasn't assassinated just because we disagreed. We got over there by claiming they had WMDs, but we took him into custody for crimes against humanity. He had been doing things along the lines of what Hitler did, although since he stuck to his own region, it never became a huge deal to the entire world.

Anyway, I don't disagree that the US has crossed it's boundaries, and I think that we should stick with the UN's decision. Maybe continue to press it, but not do anything unless the UN eventually agrees.

That's the thing, all other members in the UN agree with the action of eco/soc. sanctions, but because China and Russia are permanent members they can over-rule the whole council.
