Mindless Violence is only bad if it was a form of betrayal. Like you went into a movie expecting something but its just Mindless Violence. Of course, it'll suck. You didn't go into Pacific Rim expecting a well-written classic for the ages, did you?

But isn't that the same for movies that abuse CGI, which is a personal pet peeve of mine. Note that there's a different between reliance on CGI and just using it everywhere because it's what everyone is doing.

Quote from JomboPacific Rim was cool.
Somewhat related: I read a negative review of Gravity where the author said "take away all the visual effects and all you have is a mediocre film." Well, take away the good parts of any film and you have a mediocre film lol. That review really annoyed me, wish I could find it. He really missed the point of the film.
Gravity was pretty good. I have to admit though, it was a bit boring and wasn't really attention grabbing for the most part. I'm still glad I watched it.
Watch Seul contre tous. Not really a 'good' movie, but after watching it. It left me with alot of heavy thoughts and lingering emotions. It's definitely strange, in a good way.

Just finished:
The School of Rock
Very awesome, thanks to Jack Black for making me laugh countless times.
Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghost of Georgia.
FINALLY. I got the chance to watch this movie in HBO. Not really scary but it's good. Thank god it has a happy ending.

You guys should watch this movie if you haven't, one of the best and always will be to me.
Description: In the year 2035 a techno-phobic cop investigates a crime that may have been perpetrated by a robot, which leads to a larger threat to humanity.

I just watched Hard Candy (bl3u told me to). I think it's not as good of a movie as he says it is, and he's not on IRC for me to talk to him about it, so I'll just post my thoughts here and wait for his response.
Ellen Page did a great job on acting though.

Currently watching "Dante's Inferno: An Animated Epic" in my Nokia Lumia 710 (I'm watching it in YouTube and I'm still not halfway done). It's beautiful, seriously. The only thing is that the plot of the movie, I think, is very different from the plot of the game.

lol that bothered me too when I watched the movie after I played the game, I automatically went "What de fuq? That didn't happen."
Either way the movie was still quite epic too watch although there were some bumps that I found strange, but anyway, what made the movie so interesting (for me anyway) was how the animating style would change under the course of the movie. So you would see Dante (still kicking butt) in different styles.

Been watching House for the past week now on Netflix, and it's pretty fucking great. I don't know why I never watched it before now.

Just finished "Rise of the Guardians". It's pretty cool, and I already rewatched it for 3 times haha. I hope there will be a possible sequel for this film.

Yeah, it's really good. It has its ups and downs, but it always manages to pick itself up during the season. Season 6 was one of my favorites. The season premiers and finales are pretty amazing for each season
I think the reason why a lot of people enjoy it is because of how similar it is to Sherlock Holmes.

Watched Kung Fu Panda and Megamind yesterday in Disney Channel's The Fab 5 special. Kung Fu Panda is so awesome, I like Po's humor, and, I think, it's better if Oogway didn't die, he's a badass kung fu fighter. My favorite character is Tai Lung, his fighting skills is just over-the-top haha.

Also: Favorite directors, anyone?
Personally, I like it, the characters are all great, I love the absurdity and I think it's hilarious. My friends don't appreciate it as much as I do though. They thought it was silly and none-sense.
I mean, that's just, like, your opinion man.

Recently saw "The Apparition" in HBO. And I have to admit that it's a bit bad, there's no jumpscares or something else, and the film was short (something like 80 minutes). I was expecting that the movie will extremely scare you out and make you run outside with your heart beating so fast though I was wrong. The film is not that okay, the only problem is that, there's almost no scary scenes and the movie only lasted for 80 minutes.
Also... I just saw Alagwa (Breakaway), it's an indie Filipino film with English sub and it's... it's just so sad. The movie follows....
The ending is just so sad, I mean seriously. Almost made me cry.
