I don't think it's normal for someone to go on a month long holiday. And people with responsibilities (even a normal member have responsibilities) shouldn't be going on a month long holiday. And holiday as in, in your own free will. If you can't help it, then it's okay.

I used to spend all my whole summer 3 months break to go back to my home country. I don't know why you seem surprised about it. But I guess we arent in the same circumstances so I dont blame you. Also, being in a holiday doesn't mean that you can't have the access to the internet whatsoever, unless you live in the mountain or a way rural areas or something.
