So, Hi guys, I haven't animated in a while so I decided to unrust my skills a little bit, hope this animation is long enough to C&C http://sta.sh/027yw2ev225q

Overall it is very stiff. the spine doesn't really move until the end but it's a tad awkward since the stick does not get really any lower. The sword doesn't seem like it has a weight. It needs more easing at the peak when it is about to change directions. Just try to loosen it up, and if it helps at all pick up a bat or something and try acting out random swings and get a feel for it yourself. With time you shall unrust, keep practicuring bbykakes<3

I've been seeing the same mistakes for people animating swords.
First off the sword looks weird. Dont make the hilt half of the sword. A hilt is usually pretty small.
Secondly the head. I understand that you've put your head on a separate layer but double frame it when you double frame the body. It'll look funny otherwise.
Thirdly the begging ease. The stick eased out o his beginning position in a wobbly manner and it looks funny
Fourthly the word should rotate more. The red indicates where the sword should be.

Also during some frames the sword doesn't rotate. Fix that(look below)

The turn was funny and the backs were stiff
