Where are the Updates Now?

Remember this post from the dev blog, nearly a year ago?

Whats Next? New Features Galore!
We continue to work on the Elementals, a new Empire for the Stick Empires. But before that is launched we have much more planned!
Over the course of the year we also have some big features we will add to the game:
Deathmatch Mode! : My personal Favorite. In this mode a player will start with a massive amount of resources and miners, for example 3000 gold and 2000 mana and 8 miners. Imagine the possibilities for openings!
Custom Matches!: Finally the old way of game invites will be updated to have its own section where you can set up a custom game and choose your Map type/Game type ect, then invite a friend to your lobby.
New Game Modes!: In addition to Deathmatch, we will be creating maps types with unique attributes such as: destructible rocks in the center which will give users time to build up. Multiple towers to capture instead of just one center tower. Gold rush maps where the players must use their miners to drag the gold from the center towards their base.
Kings and Queens & Global Spells!: This will be a massive new feature that will surely bring new strategy and fun to the game. We plan to let you choose to have a King or Queen that will sit upon your castle next to your castle archers/castle deads. This King unit represents you and commands your Empire. It will be untargetable. Its purpose is to cast global spells, which are abilities that cost no resources and can be cast any time throughout game, limited only by the cooldown time which will be dependent on the ability type. We will have a vast selection of abilities, of which the player can select two for his King to bring into a game. The abilities you choose will affect the visual appearance of your King. This will make scouting the enemy King a vital part of strategy.
Experience Points!: How can you earn new abilities to choose for your King? with Experience points, the more you play and the more you win, the more experience you will gain. The higher your experience the more abilities you will be able to choose from.

So...what happened to the new map types and global spells? Obviously they weren't released before the elementals, but I'm just wondering if the developers cancelled those features, or just forgot about them.

Idk. Personally I wouldn't look forward to global spells, but map types? I want!

maps with special effects would make the game more interesting and funnier ^_^

I am sure with the elementals out, they can now focus on balance and new features.

Like DAZ said im looking forward more to the new maps than the global spells... But whats most important right now is that the elementals are balanced out.

Dam we thought no one would notice ;) ---- well the truth about this is... we did decided that you guys would want elementals before global spells so we changed the priority on that. Also if we could have Elemental out and balance that first it would make Global spells more balanced when they come.

We did get quite far with Clan stuff however and are in fact thinking of releasing Clan options next. Mainly because we need a break from developing and just focusing on optimizing and continuing balancing for now. Elemental was quite a bit harder then developing Chaos alone of course the balance is difficult but also we really put a lot of work into each unit to make them not just another swordwrath scaled up with an axe or something easy like that.

We just want to make sure we put a lot of thought into the next steps for SE and Stick War.

Don't worry CJ, I and probably everyone else think you are doing fine. I'd love to see a clan option though! As soon as my computer is getting its upgrade I am back in SE and hopefully will renew my membership

Glad to hear it! I'd love to see what you guys can do with clans, cause that will certainly make things a bit more interesting. :) Course, that isn't to say things aren't already fun, but the next big thing is always fun to see :D

Good, looks like Stick War 2-Chaos Empire & Stick War 2-Elemental Empire will come out :D Also, SE would be far better with the clan options.

The best thing is about the clans, I will love it when it comes, and want to see what type of options will u have, name of clan with every players profile? Oh that would be good :D

I guess the profile with clans will have the clan color?
All I know is a clan has its own main color and two other minor colors
