Some sketches I've done in my free time, if I make more I'll update.


Loki because YES. The shading on the face was probably the funnest part.



A picture of K-pop star Taemin for my friends birthday, the clothing folds were kind of difficult but turned out nice.

All done on 5.5 x 8.5 in. sketchbook paper with a 0.7 mechanical pencil I found on the ground somewhere and a gummy eraser.

These are pretty fucking dope home slice, but something about Taemin bothers me, his face just looks broken and flat to me.

oh yeah, I knew someone would see it as well. I seem to struggle when it comes to Asian faces, I think it was the chin and the shape of the nose that I messed up. Guess I'll just need to draw more, such a shame.

To me it seemed his right eye seemed misplaced and the upper left of his head was uneven with the rest

Ah I think I see the issue, the angle and length of his nose is odd and the eyes are positioned to the right too much (and that right eye is probably rotated a bit as well), and I think that's causing his eyes to look kind of sunken in. I wish I'd seen it earlier, I was in such a rush to get it finished for my friends birthday that I got sloppy. Thanks for helping me notice that.

A couple of things seem to break the looks of the faces.

Loki's eyes seem to be too close together, and the ears are far too high up. Maybe the eyebrows are too low as well, but I can't tell.

And yes, Taemin's features are very skewed. His left eye is far up compared to the other, and the nose is lopsided as well. I might go on a limb and say the right side of his head is too flat.
