Okay I usually start these things with a story of some sort to get players in the mood of flavor, but I'm crapped for time so let's just get to the skinny:

There's been a bank robbery.

You are the robbers. It was a 4-6 man job and you had all just pulled off the heist.

Now away from prying eyes and greedy hands, you rest in your hideout ready to split the loot. There's just one problem: You're all greedy bastards. No sooner did that pile of cash come out of the sack did you all start pulling your weapons on each other.

"Looks like there's only one way to settle this," one of you yell.

"Final Destination, no items, and Fox only?!"

BANG!

The idiot wiseguy falls to the floor, nursing his crotch area with impunity as the rest of the room roar in laughter.

"Something like that."

The Standoff
A chaotic game of shooting.

Introduction
Just as Knights of Camilot was an adaptation of The Resistance, this game is an adaptation of Cash N' Gunz, a fast-paced bluffing free-for-all that's all about greed and deceit. Think of it as Mafia without the discussion phase and everyone can lynch (read: shoot) anyone all at once at the same time!

How Do I Win?
To put it simply, you just need to be the richest guy in the room after 8 rounds. But killing everyone off isn't such a bad idea either. The latter win condition is optional though, giving room for a little strategy and minor deduction in teaming up and stuff. Note however that this game doesn't accept ties. Another criteria will be used if 2 or more players end up with the same amount of cash in the end. There's also the possibility of everyone dying. Lovely, isn't it?

The game is played in 8 rounds. In each of these rounds, a fixed amount of loot is randomly spread across the table. Players will then have a choice of loading their gun with blanks, a real bullet, or hollow points (bullets that hurt more basically). They will then aim it at anyone other than themselves (they MUST aim) and the receivers will have an option of standing down or manning up. Rinse and repeat until the game reaches the logical conclusion.

The Phases of Play
Each of the 8 rounds follow certain phases of play. These are:

1) Loot Reveal
5 out of 40 batches of loot will be revealed randomly. The denominations are:
- 15 Bronze Coins worth $5 each
- 15 Silver Dollars worth $10 each
- 10 Gold Bullions worth $20 each

Anyone alive by the end of this round, recieves an equal distribution of the loot. If something cannot be distributed equally, it remains on the table and joins the future loot to add to the pot. If a player dies, his loot is discarded from the rest of the game.

2) Aim and Shoot
Players now have 48 hours to PM me 2 things: a) The kind of bullet you will load. and b) Who will you aim it at. Every player only has a limited amount of bullets:
- 5 Blanks; This ammo does not wound anyone, but are used for bluffing purposes all the same.
- 2 Real Bullets; This ammo can wound someone, which causes them to lose health.
- 1 Hollow Points; This ammo not only wounds someone, but causes the player to stagger---disabling his ability to shoot back. Note that all Hollow Point shots are simultaneous and quicker, so if 2 players aimed Hollow Points at each other they will both get shot.

As with the quickened nature of this game, if you fail to PM me in time you will have a misfire in which 1 random ammo disappears from your inventory.

3) The Whatcha Gonna Do Punk Phase
After everyone has PM-ed me their shot decisions, I will post the Standoff Layout all at once. Players will now have another 48 hours to either privately PM or publicly post their reaction. They have to make 1 of 2 moves:

  • STAND DOWN - This drops your aim and forgoes any chance of getting the loot of the round. On the plus side, if someone was aiming at you, you won't be getting shot (shooting cowards is not a manly thing to do). On the minus side, you don't get any loot AND you gain Coward Points. Standing Down even if no one is aiming at you is allowed.

  • MAN UP - As you expect, this retains your current position, whether it is being aimed at or aiming at someone or both. You'll be eligible for the loot of the round, but there's a chance you're going to get shot. How manly of you.

Note that if you do not make a decision here in time, you will be considered MANNED UP. (As silence means yes.) But for god's sake, don't drag the 48 hours for everyone else in this game. If you're really going to MAN UP, then just tell me outright.

Regardless of what you do, if you aren't standing anymore (either from standing down or getting shot), you will automatically be ineligible for the loot. If you get shot by either a Real Bullet or Hollow Point and stagger OR Stand Down, you also drop your existing bullet...and that bullet won't be revealed to everyone. So counting how many bullets each player has is an impossibility here and it won't be that simple.

4) Shots Fired AKA Resolution Phase
After all the reactions have either been posted or PM-ed, I will type up a dramatic flavor text for how the shootout went down. If anyone is wounded three times, they are dead and out of the game and any loot they've accumulated is discarded. Whoever remains, will get the loot in equal distributions. Whatever remains is retained and the next set of loot is distributed. Rinse and Repeat.

5) Endgame
After 8 rounds, a winner is declared:
- If everyone is dead, NOBODY wins.
- If there is a sole survivor, THAT GUY WINS.
- If there is more than one survivor, the person with the highest cash amount wins. Oh btw, players are deducted $5 dollars for every Coward Point they have.
- In the event of a tie, the player with the least Coward Points and the least Health (in that order) wins the game.

General Rules
1) Well since this is more of a deduction game with little to no discussion phases (there's a tiny bit of leeway to discuss stuff like what is the minimum number of players needed alive to equally distribute the loot), you may use this thread as sort of an in-game chat. It won't count as spam or anything.

2) This game is all about psyching people out so I will be accepting flame posts and minor trashtalk, as long as it doesn't get too personal AND nobody takes it personally.

3) If you are not a player in the current game, then please refrain from posting while a game is in session. You may however, post once if you wish to be in on the next game. I will spot it don't worry.

4) Well unlike Mafia, you don't really need to talk in this game, so I have no inactivity net in place. But know this: if I know that you have been an avid inactive playah and you decided to flake here, then there shall be consequences.

5) If you are in an emergency and you need to leave the game, please warn me ahead of time so I can make the proper replacements.

6) CLEAR YOU INBOX AT ALL TIMES!

7) Have fun!

Player Signups
Because of the fast-paced nature of this game, the lack of discussion by design, and the minimum amount of players required (4-6), there are actually consequences for not submitting actions in time so inactivity can actually KILL you in this game without having to bother other people. In fact, it only makes the active stronger since this is a free for all. As a result, anyone who was previously in my blacklist can now once again join. I will still screen participants though just in case.

1) Jutsu

2) WyzDM

3) Sadko

4) Exilement

5) Devour

6) smile

If I see that people can do good in this game, I will think about reducing the waiting period to 36 hours. First come first serve, with further signups to be queued for next game (but they must confirm then).

Nice, a newcomer to the ranks of General Discussion. Welcome!

Added you both. I hope this forum inactivity hasn't killed the spirit of forum game activity. Come on, other side of the world!

Anyways I modified the rules a bit cos I mistyped. All players have 8 bullets total (one for each round) instead of my erroneous 11. And they only have 3 lives instead of 4.

I will consider changing the numbers if more people are interested in a 6+ player game but till then.

The more the merrier, if there was 10+ it would be absolute mayhem. The good mayhem. The kind that gets players blown to bits.

Yeah but the problem is this forum has seen better days. On this timezone at least. Either way you can tell how moderately inactive the other threads are. That's why I made it a 4-6 player game to start

4 people huh? Wow, this place has really gone to hell.

We have the requisite minimum to begin. I'll start in couple of hours if no one else will sign up.

I remembered you talking about making a forum game based on "Cash N' Gunz" in the chat thread a long time ago and here it is! Good luck with this Hewitt!

Yes. We will start shortly.

Apologies for the delay. We've been having some freaky power outages lately. It might as well be since I know Exilement doesn't really get on the weekends.

And that makes 6. Here we go. Let's Begin:

Round 1

Randomly drawing from the bag of 40, the first round's loot is:

a Gold Bullion - $20

a Bronze Coin - $5

a Silver Dollar - $10

a Bronze Coin - $5

a Bronze Coin - $5

Each player has 5 blanks, 2 Real Bullets, and 1 Hollow Point.

Submit your Aim&Shoot PMs to be now! What bullet and who to aim at. The deadline is 4/16/2014 more or less!

If you failed to PM, the assumed action is misfire! One random bullet will disappear from your inventory.
