Honestly I don't even see how mass swords could be viable if your opponent has any skill at all, even if you're like a god at this game.
A spearton shield wall+bash would stop them in their tracks let alone if they added a meric or two to it, then a magikill would make them disappear within seconds, or even archer/crossbows/giants could tear them to pieces at that point. Or they could have half swords and half archers, swords act as a meat shield for the archers to tear up your swords..or..well.. Massing swords just seems like a really bad idea

Late game it almost never works on order nor chaos, early game it can be viable because its hard to get rid of alot swords in the first like 2 mins beforeyou tier up. It also depends on empire sword+archer massing is considered the best anti-elemental strategy

Sword mass is effective in a few occasions, for example, giant massing. Pure giant mass. Or spear mass. 80 swords w/ rage rekt those things.

Well hey ya gotta admit, if there's enough lag then 80 swords will rip through pretty much anything.

Dude it's powerful against any mass really, except shadowraths, or any assassinating unit.

The only way this ever works is in Match Mode when you just get like 3 SW, NOT 80 (what were you thinking there?), and then rush them while they only have miners out. This is why you keep a few SW out in the early game just in case.
