Dude I thought I was the only person ever who knew what the hell RPG Maker is. When I used it I used the 2003 edition I believe and I messed around with one on the playstation 2 way back in the day.

There are actually a fuck ton of websites you can access with sprites from any genre of game ever for use in RPG Maker.
If you're looking for original art though I might be able to help you with some sprites of some stuff ranging from background elements to weapons to characters and so forth. I'm obviously an outstanding flash artist but if you're looking for some old school bit graphits I have a lot of experience making pixel sprites in GIMP for an old freeware game I used to play.

Honestly if you want help making the game, like I said I have a lot of experience with the program and how it works. If it's possible to import maps made by someone else into your game file then I can make areas for you to use as long as you have the same tilesets that I use and what not. Which would be easy for us to exchange between one another.

Tomorrow during class I'm going to doodle some areas and maybe brainstorm some ideas.

I'm going to go with your idea of making several villages for players to go to and explore. In my opinion it would make story development easier because we can always go back and add npc's and quest items to areas. I can't fucking waaaaiiiiitttttt.

I think for area creation any unused space should be set to all black. Check out the template maps to see what i mean if you don't understand. It makes it cleaner and makes the transition to maps easier.

Have any areas in particular you'd like to help design? I have the plot down pretty much. But side quest ideas and cool villains/boss ideas are totally awesome :)

Man, this would be so handy. Go for it, my man. Fly free~

This is totally awesome. An overworld would be pretty neat actually since we could potentially be going across the entire continent.
But would you like to make a more heavily forested area? Perhaps it could even be a maze on a map filled with random encounters against enemies, and the exit would lead to where Michael would run into Lily.

I cant see the images so I can't ascertain it.

Alright, 4 more weapons, all of which are recruit weapons.

1. Hilten- A one-handed shortsword that is in mass production. Because of it's cheap cost in production, and easiness to wield, it is popular to both newbie soldiers and blacksmiths.

2. Athen- A one-handed shield, also in mass production for the same reasons with Hilten. Basic footmen would be equipped with Hilten and Athen together.

3. Adamas- A shortbow that is popular amongst recruits. While it lacks in range, the shortbow has the durability which allows to shoot multiple arrows at once, if done right.

4. Barista- A small matchlock rifle. It's compact size and massive power has impressed the kingdom greatly. But, though it is the latest technology, most recruits do not use them, disliking the long reload time and fearing the gun would explode in their faces.

Devour my good sir, you can count me in as a writer. It'll be fun and I need the practice.

IF I am accepted (I also don't know if you choose for us what we do.)

Otherwise, I'm ready to start at any time soon with what you want me to do.

I have absolutely no clue if I'm doing this right.

That's looking great, haha. I should probably give you a picture of what the continent of Calria looks like, if you're doing the overworld like that. I'll put it together some time soon.
But I was also wanting there to be plenty of space for random encounter battles to happen. I suppose I could fix that up by making the player walk through a good amount of wildlands before making it to the world map.

Cool, I'll sprite most of those up later. But this is quite a bit before gunpowder was invented :p Maybe there isn't even any gunpowder at all in Calria. Just because Magic runs everything.

If you want to come up with interesting antagonists, that's always awesome. It's good to have plenty of quests and missions and jazz :)

It was just to test to make sure I could rotate maps as well as make a decent looking overworld and such.
Of course it should be bigger :D

Hey Devour, do you need a hand with calculations in combat and ideas for spells and attacks for each of the elements and possible future classes? I'm not familiar with VX Ace's machinations so I don't really know how much can be done but I can provide a list of detailed mechanics in that department

I've got all the calculations down already :) But I'm definitely lacking in the spells and abilities department. Any kind of offensive and defensive spell that works with one of the eight elements that you can think of (mind you, no mortals are able to use Death because doing so would kill them), I'll write it down to implement into the game. Especially if you wanted to emphasize what each spell was capable of doing in fights.
