I don't know if this kind of things has a name.
So post here some aspects of people from their minds that are manifested trhough their image/habits. For example:
People who have the habit to spit has some kind of conflict with their father/patern figure.
People uses beards has a barrier to other people to hide their true self/flaws.
Also, if you want, tell us if it's true or not. In my case, I have the habit to spit; and my father left my family/died/IDK when I was very little. Very interesting, yeh

you can tell a lot about somebody based on the shape of their face. chinese medicine has a whole in-depth system for it, but at the most superficial level the connection is obvious; the most frequently used expression that a person holds eventually stays on their face (in the form of lines or otherwise). if you see somebody with their neutral expression, minding their own business, and you mimic the emotion that would give rise to that expression, you suddenly understand a whole lot about that person.
of course, this doesn't work so well on young people, because a) they don't have any lines on their face and b) they are still developing and growing into whatever they will become. the chinese say that by the age of 30, you are responsible for your own face.
as for beards, mine exists largely for practical reasons; a) it's fucking cold, b) it filters out allergens, c) it is a lot of effort to trim and shape it. having said that, i have considered it as valuable for hiding my face as well, although i consider this a side-benefit. my neutral expression is a grimace of pain, which isn't very conducive to conversation (that doesn't revolve around my state of health).
