With Hewitt's awesome Mexican Standoff thread coming to a close, it's time for me to have another turn running a forum game. The concept? Three teams all try to eliminate the opposing teams. When two team's members are completely wiped out, the surviving members of the remaining team win.

The simplicity ends there.

The Game:
Babel will be a game of discussion, trickery, deception, and ultimately a deadly dance of words.
At any time, if there's enough votes for it, a vote may be called to kill any one participant in the games, except for me. Maximum of two votes per day. If no votes are called, one deadly election is adjourned once every 2-3 days. The specifics will be decided based on how many players are gathered. Do note that you can agree to execute no one, but when the forced vote comes, you must vote to kill someone.
Another way to kill your enemies is by attacking them yourself. There are three different ways to do that which are shown below.

There are a few reasons why all this will not be so simple.
-First of all, no one will be told by me who their teammates are. All they will know is which faction they belong to.
-However, finding your teammates won't be so easy either. Knowledge is a very deadly weapon here, and knowing another player's faction gives you a great deal of ways to destroy them. Announcing your faction to the world may very well end with your death next turn... Though you may also enjoy pretending to be on a team that you really do not belong to, causing your enemies to approach you, revealing their true factions to you themselves, ending in their own demise quickly after. Even more fun would be telling the world, falsely, that a player has revealed to you their team! Even if they haven't, it would only take a little bit of trickery to make it very difficult for that player to escape your plans, and attacks from the others.

Why does it all work like this? It's because in order to harm you with attacks, players need to state your true faction as well as your name when they PM me. If they state the incorrect team, any attacks towards that player will miss entirely, as well as other consequences.

What are attacks? Why, these are the way you can kill someone without going through the tedious process of forming a majority vote and executing them. There are three different kinds of attacks you can assault an enemy with:
-First attack: Blow dart. This is the weakest, and also the least risky of the three attacks. On a successful hit, it does a single point of damage, but it also becomes the only kind of attack you can use on that particular player for the next five days. You remain completely anonymous when the damage is dealt. On a failed attack, I post a vague hint pointing at you. Unlimited ammo.
-Second attack: Knife strike. This attack is stronger, and also more risky. A successful hit deals 2.5 points of damage, and becomes the only attack you can use on that particular player for the next two days. You remain anonymous on a successful hit. If you fail your attack, one letter of your name is revealed. Eight uses per player.
-Third attack: Gunshot. A successful hit does five points of damage, and you remain anonymous. You can kill your enemy quickly this way. However, if you fail, your true faction is revealed in the thread for all to see. You can use it four times.

Players all have ELEVEN points of health. This means that no matter what, it takes three people to kill you in a single turn.

Good things to know:
-It's also worth noting that you may only attack someone once per 24 hours, regardless of execution voting sessions. I will post every day when the 24 hour mark is passed, notifying everyone that you may attack again. You must also PM me when you wish to attack someone.
-You do not need to PM me when it comes to voting for an execution. This can be done in the thread.
-Your team will be PM'd to you, and I must stress that screenshotting my PM is against the rules and will end with your instant death.
But screenshotting or photoshopping a PM from other players is totally legal!
-All information such as a player's Attack ammo and Health will be made available to you.

Let's recap:
-You will only know your own faction at the beginning.
-To kill someone via an election, it requires a decent majority vote (40% or so).
-Forced elections require you to choose someone to die. Only 30% is needed here.
-You can attack once every 24 hours. If you have your whole team, you can bypass weapon restrictions by having your teammates shoot confirmed enemies with their heaviest hits on the turn after.
-If you attack Bob with a weak hit, you can attack Sally with whatever you want next turn.
-You might want to skip using your weapons entirely, and go for voting potential enemies dead instead. Your cover is less likely to be blown. Or, you might try vice versa.
-During the very beginning of the game, all it will take to get the ball rolling is for a single player to make his move.
-Make sure your inbox is open so I can PM you.
-Screenshotting my PMs are against the rules. Screenshotting and/or Photoshopping PMs of others is allowed.
-I will post when the next 24 hours has begun every day.

From these rules arises a truly intricate game of trust, deception and shaky alliances. How do you find your other teammates without revealing your own true faction? How do you destroy your opponents without ending up dead yourself? Your success will rely on your wits. But a team who has gathered all of its teammates together will win swiftly and easily.

I guess we will find out. I've never seen a game like this played before, and it should be very interesting to watch.

Also try reading Divergent, it's a book by Veronica Roth. You'll understand what I said when you read it.

Simply fantastic. Nine players is the optimal number of participants, but the more there are, the better. You have all been added--now to see who else joins us.

Heh, fair enough.
We can start this game with six people, but nine would be the best if we can't get more than that.
