Use what ever fucking FPS you want, recommend 20, but if you are comfortable with 30, use 30. Everything is, well, bare bones beginner and you should stick to easy tests, swinging a ball back and forth, practicing easing, bouncing the ball to practice weight and adding these properties to a stick figure. Read Zed's Tutorial, and Mitch's tutorial (On TheDarkDemon.com) and really pay attention to them and try to emulate the things they say and show to get a feel for it.
