This is just an experimental thread. If the community participates positively in this, I might prolong its existence and make it official or something.

The goal of this thread is two-fold: 1) To broaden our individual musical tastes. and 2) To form a 'musical identity' to identify what kind of music Stickpage likes in general. Every once in awhile, someone will make a Music thread which just boils down to posting youtube links with nary a discussion going on until it sinks to the depths only to have another similar thread ages later. Unlike the other off-topic threads like tv and anime, discussion is just something that's taken for granted when it comes to Music around here.

So, here's what's going to happen: we're going to maintain a Bi-Weekly Chart containing the top 10 user-nominated tracks that have been upvoted the most. As described, said voting period will change every week and if any songs have not received any votes, they will be eliminated. I'll also be keeping track of which songs maintained a streak and such.

So to wrap up here's a rough outline of how the thread works:

a) People nominate some songs. People can second already-nominated songs to boost their chance of getting in the chart faster.
b) People vote on the songs they like best. These scores are tallied and the Chart is rearranged.
c) As each day goes by, people can revote/renominate new songs to update the Chart.
d) Rinse and repeat.


Rules on Nominating:
1) Users can nominate ONE song per user per three days. Instead of nominating, you can second an already-nominated song in order to boost it and get it on the Charts faster.

2) Nominate a song by posting the Title, Artist, and a link to the song. DO NOT embed the song. It'll make this thread really long and hard to load.

3) Once the chart is up or updated, users can vote up to THREE songs amongst the Top 10 that they like. The chart is populated on a first come, first serve basis.

4) By the end of 3 days, the rest of the nominations will replace any song that has been downvoted. You may not re-nominate these songs.

Very well. The restriction for recent songs has been lifted. But it's still one song per period.

You can edit your existing song choices if you wish.
