I can control all sorts of matter with my hands, but it doesn't let me achieve cold fusion. You might find you need to be able to see (or at least somehow sense) something in order to move it, and senses tend to have a lower bound.
At the end of the day the ambiguity in Wither's write up means I've pretty much got free rein on what I can do. But I had assumed that everything came down to understanding and not so much on senses. Say I close my eyes and block off all my senses then walk into a room filled with junk, I can't see why I wouldn't be able to wildly throw stuff around the room, if I try to move something that isn't there nothing will happen, but if something is, I would be able to control it but I would be going off faith that I'm actually controlling something. So if I enter the same room but someone has told me the exact location of a few objects in relation to where I am, as long as I understand well enough I should be able to control it, the greater I understand something the less dangerous/risky it is to control.
I'm also assuming that I have an unlimited energy source seeing as I'm doing all these crazy things but not getting tired. Which means I can now do any unspontaneous reaction/process.
Going by Jelly's insane troll logic, I choose shadows then, because unlike Zed's argument, Darkness is EVERYWHERE and the first thing I'll do is climb the highest thing I can find then manipulate all the shadows and dark things I can see below to blot out the sun. Or in the very least cover my domain in a translucent forcefield of shadow matter.
And from that point I'm practically swimming in the stuff.
Oh yeah, and acquire night vision goggles first. But in case I didn't, then I'll just repel the shadows surrounding me (its still manipulation as I'm just pushing it away), so that I remain to be the only visible thing.
Or you know, not completely blot out the sun but just add a transparent shade around my domain. I mean, the only important part is that I have shadows absolutely everywhere, so all I really need to do is to cast shadows instead of darkness the manipulate away.
How do you use shadow to block light? Shadow is just a lack of visible light, so if you can control shadow you can control/bend light to move the shadows, but I'm confused on how you actually use shadow to have affect things. I mean, assuming you're controlling shadows by bending light, you can do so much more! Not only are you now bending the light away from your evil domain but you are now torching the rest of the world with an endless summer, you could focus huge amounts of light to light beam someone to death, you could bend the light that has bounced of objects into someones eye so they're seeing illusions! The possibilities!
How's that for troll logic.
But going off what you said, I'm not sure if you're an evil overlord or the archenemy of skin cancer.
But be warned, you mess with my sun and I'm crashing the moon into the Earth, coz you know, I'm petty like that.
