So old players and new players alike. As you know, SE has been through a lot of changes, one of the big changes are the elementals and burn. I would like to ask you one thing; bombers.

Bombers are cheap and fast t2-ish unit, one use and dies pretty easily, but that's beside the main point. Bombers are also one of the units that has been through quite a bit of change, burn being the most change to it of all. Bombers used to have no burn, and deal instant damage. Now, they don't have as much damage as before, but burn makes up for it.

So I'd like to ask you, do you like past bombers or current bombers?

I would prefer the old Instant-Damages for both the Mage and Bomber, only because burn is a way of:

-Giving a few extra seconds to deal damage before death from burn (IE. Archers1)
-Giving Merics more opportunity to heal, as they can easily repair burn damage compared to if the unit was Instantly killed (Merics2)
-Giving your enemy a chance to garrison...

*1: An archer can kite out a few more shots if hit by a blast at full health, maybe even enough time to finish off the mage that blasted (If for some reason the mage has no other units)
*2: Merics waste the single spell as well, attempting to heal the unit that was just instantly killed

I prefer the DoT, maybe it still needs some tweaking but it forces players to decide if they want to squeeze out more damage by waiting for each DoT to die down or if they need to deal as much damage as they can instantly.

Of course instant damage... way better
same as Buddy's point, burn effect allows victim to escape

Similar to the magikill's blast
instant-damage blasts were cool
but burning blasts are... shit

But if you think about it, you will also get insta-death if you are the one that got bombed, so there's no right or wrong actually.

I've held my opinion on this, but now, I really think instant damage is better.

I think bombers work better and are more depthy having the burn DoT as I put above but I preferred the Magikill instant damage.

Time to shed some light to this stupid thread.

Of course the burn bombers are better. Why you ask? Look at it this way: how does it go when you're on the receiving end of the damage? You have 2 options when faced with bombers: Evade or get punished. With burn, you may die eventually, but not only can you still use the controlled unit, you have the chance at sparing it with meric uses, etc. In the past, it was 3 solid bombers and instant archidon/miner death. Now, it may be only 2, but the damage is spaced, and there's time to restoer that unit or move it for different micro tactics.

Do I still think burn bombers do too much damage? Oh gosh yes. But the physics allows for more decisions and defensive options as Order, while still maintaining the aggressive point from Chaos.

I like instant-damage. Chaos seems to rely more on burst damage (ground spikes, pack mentality, stone gaze) and Bombers compliment it. Bombers are also designed as anti-zergs. A large enough groups of Merics can save the army, as opposed to instantly.

Uh you sure? Magikill poison STILL hits hard, and a mage blast was ALWAYS hard to land on archers.
