Hey guys, I'm pretty new to the Stick Empires game. I've played Halo Wars online(a different style RTS) so I'm not completely new to this style of gameplay, but my my rank is just barely above 1200, and I was wondering whether some of you pros could give me some tips.
Right now, what I do is build two swords and a miner right off the bat, then save up for a fourth miner, use those miners to get two more swords(total four) and an archer, then go for the tower. What I do from here on out varies heavily, but it usually involves capturing the tower and holding my troops there as I build up my army, getting the tower ghost somewhere early in that process.
Alternatively, if I lose, I draw back to my base and get a Castle Archer.
Either way, my army composition is usually a few speartons with shield wall to act as a meat shield for archer/flying crossbow, with a giant or two filling out the meat shield as possible and helping with damage, and a meric or two behind the wall.
If my opponent is relying heavily on spears, I'll change it up to allow more crossbows/archers/giants as they seem to do pretty well against spears.
Anyways, I've won more games than I've lost so far, but barely, and I have a feeling most of my wins were against people who had no idea what they were doing.
So... Comments, please

Can we have a few replays of your game? That'd be helpful. Also archers are only good for gimping out a spear one by one. Get groups of archers against a horde of spears, gg.
Another thing I'd advise you to do research magikill abilities and pull out a magikill in case of spear rush/mass.
Here's another tip i can give you. When you have land control (or captured the tower,) camp your archers in the enemy's second gold row so you can restrict their economy. Your opponent won't be able to do much without that second gold row.
Oh and one more thing: attack as often as possible.

Yup. A good idea is to attack if he doesn't have defending units or castle archer. Doing so can stall his economy and give you the advantage. Also, keep a balance between builing miners and other units.

If he does have a castle archer however, get speartons to soak up the damage and attack with archers following it. You should also get a lot of miners, like 10+ miners. Also do what the guys above told you.
